Abstract

Selanjutnya dianalisis berdasarkan kriteria tingkat keparahan Williams & Bunkley-Williams, 1996. Intensitas (I) endoparasit tertinggi ke terendah berturut-turut yaitu lokasi C (9,63 ± 2,82); B (8,71 ± 4,54) dan A (7,10 ± 2,67).

The incidence of diseases caused by parasites in cultivated fish is one of the problems in pond cultivation. Milkfish (Chanos chanos) cultivation businesses that are close to urban areas such as ponds on the East Coast of Surabaya (Pamurbaya) have the potential to experience a decline in water quality due to increasing anthropogenic activities in the area. This study aims to obtain data on endoparasite prevalence, endoparasite intensity and correlation with blood profiles in milkfish cultivated in Pamurbaya ponds. Water quality parameters measured include temperature, pH, DO and salinity. A total of 42 fish samples were taken twice from 3 sampling points following the direction of the tides. Endoparasite analysis (Intestine) and Blood Profile (RBC and WBC) are carried out in the laboratory and observed under a microscope. Next, it was analyzed based on the severity criteria of Williams & Bunkley-Williams, 1996. The results showed that the water quality in the cultivation ponds was in accordance with quality standards (temperature = 25.5 ± 0 ℃; pH = 7.76 ± 0.18 – 7.78 ± 0.21; DO = 5.85 ± 0.49 – 6.40 ± 0.42mg/l; salinity = 26.50 ± 2.12 – 27.00 ± 2.83ppt). There were 9 types of endoparasites found from the Nemathelminthes (4 types), Platyhelminthes (4 types) and Protozoa (1) groups. The prevalence of endoparasites was 100%, which means that all milkfish samples had endoparasite infections. However, based on the Intensity (I) value, it is known that the level of infection is still in the very low to moderate category, and nothing is classified as severe. The highest to lowest endoparasite intensity (I) was location C (9.63 ± 2.82); B (8.71 ± 4.54) and A (7.10 ± 2.67). The highest level of infection is from Platyhelminthes, with moderate severity. The results of blood profile analysis showed that the number of erythrocytes of all fish was in the normal range (A=3.33 ± 0.93×106/mm3; B = 2.73 ± 0.82×106/mm3; and C= 2.57 ± 0.59×106/mm3). The results of leukocyte analysis showed the same trend as the intensity value, where the highest was at location C = 133.989 ± 45.674 mm3, followed by B = 132.639 ± 44.921mm3. and A = 128.436 ± 41.061 mm3 which is known to still be in the normal category.
