Abstract

In conducting its business processes, the Crude Oil Producer incurs operational costs in various aspects of its production. Some operational costs are fully borne for facilities owned by the Crude Oil Producer, while others are shared proportionately with third-party companies that use the Crude Oil Producer's facilities for their production processes. This final project research will be conducted by identifying waste in the crude oil delivery and separation process from PT A, a third party, which will pass through several gathering stations owned by the Crude Oil Producer. The waste analysis will be carried out using the DMAIC framework and defined using several Lean Six Sigma tools such as Pareto Diagram, Fishbone Diagram, Value Stream Mapping, 7 Wastes, and FMEA to provide improvement suggestions for the identified waste. The results indicate overprocessing waste at SR Gathering Station, necessitating a flow diversion from PT A directly to PH Station to eliminate the overprocessing waste. Improvement suggestions derived from this final project analysis will be formulated in the Accrued Financial Benefit, showing a reduction in annual operational costs by 4.4%, Amend Existing Standard Operating Procedure & Facilities Sharing Agreements to accommodate the new oil flow diversion, and Poka-Yoke to ensure the pressure shipping pump can deliver crude oil directly from PT A to PH Gathering Station.
