Abstract

PT. Puspetindo adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang menghasilkan berbagai peralatan industri, termasuk air receiver tank, yang berfungsi menyimpan udara terkompresi dari kompresor dan menurunkan suhu udara. Mengingat tekanan internal dan beban eksternal yang harus ditanggung, pengujian tekanan hidrostatik menjadi penting untuk memastikan integritas struktural air receiver tank. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan mengimplementasikan prosedur pengujian hidrostatik pada pressure vessel air receiver tank vertikal. Pengujian dilakukan dengan tekanan 190 psi, 340 psi, dan 262 psi selama 1 jam 30 menit. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa air receiver tank aman, dengan tegangan hidrostatik (Sh = 73,96 MPa) lebih kecil dari 90% tegangan yang diizinkan (0,9×Sy = 124,11 MPa), serta tegangan geser pada baut lebih kecil dari tegangan yang diizinkan. Tidak ditemukan cacat atau deformasi, kecuali kebocoran pada flange yang disebabkan oleh ketidakpasan pemasangan gasket dan kekencangan baut yang kurang. Kesimpulannya, pressure vessel air receiver tank dinyatakan aman berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan pengujian hidrostatik.

PT Puspetindo is a manufacturing company that produces various industrial equipment, including air receiver tanks, which function to store compressed air from compressors and reduce air temperature. Given the internal pressures and external loads that must be borne, hydrostatic pressure testing is important to ensure the structural integrity of air receiver tanks. This study aims to understand and implement the hydrostatic testing procedure of a vertical air receiver tank pressure vessel. Tests were conducted with pressures of 190 psi, 340 psi, and 262 psi for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Results show that the air receiver tank is safe, with hydrostatic stress (Sh = 73.96 MPa) less than 90% of the allowable stress (0.9×Sy = 124.11 MPa), and shear stress in the bolts less than the allowable stress. No defects or deformations were found, except for leakage at the flange caused by insufficient gasket installation and insufficient bolt tightness. In conclusion, the pressure vessel of the air receiver tank is declared safe based on the results of calculations and hydrostatic testing.
