Abstract

Human performance is the third largest factor influencing productivity or output in a job, and it is known that human performance affects output in the range of 70-75%. Human performance is influenced by performance and human error, which can occur due to a lack of concentration. Human concentration is influenced by various factors, one of which is the work environment. One job that requires a high level of concentration is product visual inspection. This study identifies the optimal work environment by considering factors such as temperature, noise, and work duration. The temperature factor used is in the range of 20-30℃, noise levels in the range of 50-100 dB, and work duration of 15-45 minutes for visual inspection job on bottled drinking water products. This study will measure human performance and concentration using electroencephalography (EEG), specifically beta signals (concentration), alpha signals (relaxation), gamma signals (cognitive processing), and the application of the response surface method. EEG is used to measure the level of human concentration based on the brain signals emitted. Beta signals are used in this study to measure the level of human concentration while performing scenarios. The response surface method is used to determine the optimal work environment based on the resulting concentration and performance or response. The results show that changes in the work environment affect human concentration, and the optimal environment is found at a temperature of 24.8℃, noise level of 50 dB, and duration of 21.3 minutes.
