Abstract

Ports are vital for maritime countries like Indonesia, which has thousands of islands and relies on shipping activities to effectively connect the islands. Within the activities at the Port there are activities, one of which is loading and unloading. However, loading and unloading activities at the port are a risky process, especially for the safety and health of the workforce. This study aims to analyze Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the loading and unloading process at PT X Container Terminal using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment Control (HIRARC) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) methods. The HIRARC method is used to identify and control risks associated with loading and unloading work at the container terminal. In this method, 4 dominant risks or risks with an extreme level are obtained, namely pinched fingers when removing / installing twistlocks, climbing / descending stairs on RTG equipment, falling / overturning / colliding with containers while being handled, and RTG lifting containers along with the headtruck chassis. Meanwhile, the FTA method is used to analyze the root causes of potential risks and their impacts. In this method, the results obtained for the dominant root causes of risk were 14 root causes and several impacts. Through the results of the study, it is hoped that it can reduce or eliminate the risk of work accidents that can endanger loading and unloading workers (TKBM).
