Abstract

Indonesia, as the largest archipelago in the world with 17,504 islands and a sea area greater than its land area, relies on ports as a vital component for sea transportation. Tanjung Priok Port, the largest port in Indonesia, is undergoing the Kalibaru Terminal reclamation project to meet the increasing loading and unloading needs. However, this reclamation has caused a significant increase in sedimentation rates, which can lead to siltation and negatively impact port operations. This study analyzes the volume of sediment that needs to be dredged, the appropriate dredging methods, and calculates the dredging costs. There are 3 locations reviewed in this study: the Tanjung Priok Port Entrance Channel, the Northern JICT-Koja Basin, and Pier 301. It was found that the total dredged volume for the three locations is 11,404,304.47 m³. With the dredging design plan in three berthing basins and using a combination of TSHD 31,500 m³ and TSHD 5,000 m³ dredgers, the most effective dredging method was found to have a duration of 149 days and a cost of Rp483,589,932,442. This effort is expected to control sedimentation and prevent siltation at Tanjung Priok Port.
