Abstract

Palm oil is one of the leading plantation commodities in Indonesia which can produce 59% of the world's total palm oil production. However, there is a threat in the form of Basal Stem Rot (BSR) disease which can threaten the sustainability of oil palm production caused by the Ganoderma boninenense fungus. It is known that this disease can reduce palm oil production yields by up to 80%. Although this disease has been identified as the main cause of oil palm death. However, strategies for early detection and control of Ganoderma boninense have not been widely developed. It is very important to carry out research regarding early detection of the development of Ganoderma boninense using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The method used starts from literature study, sample creation, data collection, data analysis, and report preparation. From this research, it is known that the growth of Ganoderma boninense and media have different characteristics. Positive correlation was found between the growth of the Ganoderma boninense and the reflectance area and the area of the first derivative of the reflectance growth of the Ganoderma boninense and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy can be used as an early detection method for the growth of the Ganoderma boninense fungus with a wavelength range of 1244 nm-1442 nm
