Abstract

Kemudian direncanakan debit andalan PLTA sebesar 0,32 m3/detik.

Sustainable development (SDGs) is a global action plan that aims to maintain an improvement in the quality of life from one generation to the next. One of the targets of the seventh SDGs is clean and affordable energy, namely ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. To support this, it is necessary to build renewable energy supply facilities, one of which is the hydroelectric power plant at the Semantok Dam. The study location was chosen because the dam is located in an area with steep contours (gross H = 36,345 m), lacks access to electricity, and has a large inflow discharge so it has the potential to function as a hydroelectric power plant. In planning a hydroelectric power plant, it begins with an analysis of water availability discharge and water demand discharge to simulate the storage capacity of the Semantok Reservoir. Then it is planned that the mainstay hydropower discharge will be 0.32 m3/second. The planning of civil buildings in hydroelectric power plants includes the intake building, headrace, surge tank, penstock and powerhouse resulting in an energy loss of 0.568 m, so that the effective fall height is 31.81 m. The total energy loss does not exceed the maximum energy loss requirement so that hydropower planning can be said to be feasible. The turbine in the hydropower plant is planned to use 1 Kaplan type with an efficiency value of 90% producing 110.29 kW of electrical power and 772,978.06 kWh of electrical energy per year. With this value, the planned hydroelectric power plant is included in the mini hydro hydro power plant (PLTMH) and medium head hydro power plant. It is hoped that the planning for the Semantok Dam hydroelectric power plant and supporting facilities that have been carried out can be used as a reference for the construction of the Semantok Dam hydropower plant in the future.
