Abstract

=================================================================================================================================
Ports play an important role in the transportation of goods and services at sea. The port itself has an important role as the entrance and exit of ships that are anchored or just passing out of the port. Therefore, port maintenance is periodic. Some problems often occur around the port area, namely siltation caused by the sedimentation process. The sedimentation process itself can occur due to the deposition of sediment grains from the Port Pond to the bottom of the water due to current, wave, and tidal activity around the Port. One way to overcome this siltation problem is by dredging. This, this study aims to determine the type of dredger that is most effective in dredging the Tanjung Perak Harbor pond. The method used in determining the dredger uses Pearson correlation based on the dredging data. Validation of sediment type is done using borehole data and sediment samples. The average depth of the pond is 9 meters with a total dredging volume of 2,181,104.85 m³ with an area of 643,872.35 m². The type of bottom sediment based on the N-SPT value of 1 is classified as soft clay sediment. Based on the type of sediment constituent and the allocation of time and cost, dredgers that can be recommended are Trailing Suction Hooper Dredger (TSHD) and Grab Dredger Hooper Barge.
