Abstract

Sidoarjo Hot Mud has been a disaster in the Porong Sub-district since 2006. In the past, because the outburst did not end, the mud was channeled into the Porong River. This action resulted in the contamination of river waters due to substances such as suspended solids or Total Suspended Solids (TSS). Therefore, it is necessary to temporally monitor the TSS concentration in the Porong River Estuary area. This Final Project uses Sentinel-2 images from 2023 to 2024 for spatio-temporal analysis, while one image from March 2024 is used as data in the accuracy test with field data. Then the algorithm modeling of the band reflectance calculation is carried out. The results obtained are reflectance band 8A (NIR Narrow) has the smallest error with an RMSE of 10.744 mg/L so band 8A is used as a new TSS algorithm to calculate the spatio-temporal TSS in the Porong River Estuary from 2023 to 2024. TSS calculation using the new algorithm was compared with in situ TSS data and obtained an RMSE value of 39.034 mg/L and NMAE of 3.445%. The spatiotemporal trend of TSS is influenced by rainfall because when rainfall is high, the TSS value is high, when rainfall is low, the TSS value is low.
