Abstract

Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA) Supit Urang merupakan satu-satunya TPA yang melayani sampah dari masyarakat Kota Malang. Sejak tahun 2021, TPA ini menerapkan metode sanitary landfill yang dilengkapi dengan fasilitas pengolahan air lindi. Instalasi Pengolahan Air Lindi (IPL) TPA Supit Urang memanfaatkan teknologi bioreaktor dan membran filtrasi dengan spesifikasi konfigurasi sidestream dan jenis aliran cross-flow. Bioreaktor IPL terbagi menjadi tangki anaerobik dan aerobik. Terdapat beberapa faktor penting yang mempengaruhi kinerja pengolahan air lindi di TPA, salah satunya parameter suhu. Pada IPL TPA Supit Urang, tangki aerobik beroperasi pada suhu 38 °C yang melebihi suhu optimum pada kelompok bakteri mesofilik (35 °C). Hal ini menyebabkan bakteri bekerja dengan kurang optimal sehingga dibutuhkan jumlah bakteri yang banyak dalam tangki pengolahan. Untuk itu, dilakukan penelitian guna mengetahui suhu optimum bakteri dalam air lindi IPL TPA Supit Urang dalam rangka optimalisasi kinerja bakteri dalam penyisihan parameter organik, yaitu BOD dan COD.
Penelitian dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan sistem Sequence Batch Reactor yang dibantu dengan aerasi pada reaktor berkapasitas 2.000 mL. Variabel penelitian terdiri dari variabel bebas dan terikat. Variabel terikat didapatkan dari pengujian parameter yang berpengaruh terhadap penelitian, yaitu parameter BOD, COD, MLVSS, Amonium, serta pH. Sedangkan variabel bebas penelitian terbagi menjadi dua, yakni variasi konsentrasi air limbah dan variasi suhu. Proses pengolahan air limbah berjalan selama total 4,5 jam.
Dari penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa konsentrasi air limbah mempengaruhi proses penyisihan parameter organik BOD dan COD air limbah dimana semakin rendah konsentrasi air limbah semakin tinggi efisiensi removal yang terjadi. Penyisihan tertinggi parameter COD dan BOD pada konsentrasi air limbah 50%, 75%, dan 100% berturut-turut antara lain 84%; 76%; dan 68%. Kemudian variabel suhu juga berpengaruh terhadap penyisihan parameter organik dimana penyisihan BOD dan COD yang optimal pada setiap variabel lebih dominan terjadi pada suhu 35 °C yakni pada konsentrasi 75% dan 100%. Sedangkan pada konsentrasi 50%, penyisihan paling optimal terjadi pada suhu 38 °C.

The Supit Urang Final Processing Site (Landfill) is the only final processing site that serves waste from the Malang City community. Since 2021, this site has implemented the sanitary landfill method equipped with leachate treatment facilities. The Leachate Treatment Plant (IPL) at the Supit Urang Landfill utilizes membrane bioreactor technology with a sidestream configuration and cross-flow type flow. The IPL bioreactor is divided into anaerobic and aerobic tanks. Several important factors influence the leachate treatment performance at the TPA, one of which is temperature. In the IPL at Supit Urang Landfill, the aerobic tank operates at a temperature of 38°C, which exceeds the optimum temperature for mesophilic bacteria groups (35°C). This results in suboptimal bacterial activity, requiring a large amount of bacteria in the treatment tank. Therefore, research is conducted to determine the optimum temperature for bacteria in the leachate of the IPL at the Supit Urang Landfill in order to optimize bacterial performance in the removal of organic parameters, namely BOD and COD.
The research is conducted using a Sequence Batch Reactor system assisted with aeration in a 2,000 mL capacity reactor. The research variables consist of independent and dependent variables. Dependent variables are obtained from testing parameters that affect the research, namely BOD, COD, MLVSS, Ammonia, and pH. While the independent variables are divided into two, namely variations in wastewater concentration and temperature. The wastewater treatment process takes place for a total of 4.5 hours.
.From this research, it was found that the concentration of wastewater affects the removal efficiency of organic parameters BOD and COD in the wastewater, where lower concentrations of wastewater result in higher removal efficiencies. The highest removal efficiencies for COD and BOD at wastewater concentrations of 50%, 75%, and 100% were 84%, 76%, and 68%, respectively. Additionally, temperature variables also influence the removal of organic parameters, with optimal BOD and COD removal at 35°C occurring predominantly at concentrations of 75% and 100%. At a concentration of 50%, the most optimal removal occurred at 38°C.
