Abstract

An off-grid power generation system was created to overcome electricity supply problems on Bawean Island. However, existing power plants still use PLTMG and PLTD. In PT PLN's "Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) 2021-2030" there will be additional PLTS on Bawean Island in 2024. The aim of optimizing the loading and penetration of renewable energy is to determine the effect of adding PLTS in terms of operating costs and achieving an electricity generation system. optimal, economical and environmentally friendly. In this problem, it is necessary to optimize loading using Dynamic Economic Dispatch with the Lagrange Multiplier method which is then compared with the Particle Swarm Optimization method. Optimizing the Lagrange Multiplier method without PLTS obtained a total cost of IDR 382,837,510.00. With the addition of PLTS, the generation cost changes to IDR 378,450,310.00. So it can reduce generation costs by IDR 4,387,200.00, or 1.15%. Optimizing the Particle Swarm Optimization method without PLTS obtains a total generation cost of IDR 380,811,080.00. With the addition of PLTS, the generation cost changes to IDR 375,826,830.00. So it can reduce generation costs by IDR 4,984,250.00 or 1.31%. From the simulation it is known that the Lagrange Multiplier optimization method can optimize generator loading, but not as well as the Particle Swarm Optimization method.
