Abstract

Proses pembentukan logam dapat dilakukan melalui proses pengerjaan dingin (cold work), salah satunya adalah proses penekukan (bending). PT PLN PUSHARLIS UP2W VI Surabaya mengaplikasikan proses bending pada komponen produk unggulannya yaitu scoop Grab Bucket dengan menggunakan material Creusabro 8000. Proses bending akan mengakibatkan material mengalami perubahan sifat mekanis, struktur mikro, dan mempercepat laju korosi. Hal tersebut dikhawatirkan akan mempengaruhi proses manufaktur selanjutnya maupun umur pakai dari Grab Bucket.

Oleh karena itu, penting adanya dilakukan pengujian terhadap material sebagai dasar untuk mengetahui pengaruh proses bending terhadap material. Pada penelitian ini digunakan variasi pada persentase deformasi plastis yaitu 5%, 7%, dan 8%, kemudian masing-masing perlakuan dari material Creusabro 8000 dilakukan uji kekerasan, uji metalografi, dan uji korosi dengan menggunakan media pengkorosi NaCl 3,5%.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan persentase deformasi plastis menyebabkan peningkatan nilai kekerasan dan laju korosi. Pada persentase deformasi plastis 5%, nilai kekerasan 41,83 HRC dan laju korosi 0,049 mm/year. Pada persentase deformasi plastis 7%, nilai kekerasan dan laju korosi meningkat yaitu 43,5 HRC dan 0,179 mm/year. Dan persentase deformasi plasis 8% nilai kekerasan dan laju korosi mencapai nilai yang paling tinggi yaitu 47,83 HRC dan 0,239mm/year. Dalam pengujian metalografi terjadi perubahan fasa dan mengecilnya ukuran butir sebagai reaksi dari deformasi plastis.

The process of metal forming can be carried out through cold working, one of which is the bending process. PT PLN PUSHARLIS UP2W VI Surabaya applies the bending process to the main component of its flagship product, the Grab Bucket scoop, using Creusabro 8000 material. The bending process will cause the material to undergo changes in mechanical properties, microstructure, and accelerated corrosion rate. This is feared to affect the subsequent manufacturing process and the service life of the Grab Bucket.

Therefore, it is important to conduct tests on the material as a basis to determine the impact of the bending process on the material. In this study, variations in the percentage of plastic deformation were used, namely 5%, 7%, and 8%, then each treatment of Creusabro 8000 material was subjected to hardness testing, metallography testing, and corrosion testing using 3.5% NaCl as the corrosive medium.

The results showed that the increase in the percentage of plastic deformation caused an increase in hardness values and corrosion rates. At a plastic deformation percentage of 5%, the hardness value was 41.83 HRC and the corrosion rate was 0.049 mm/year. At a plastic deformation percentage of 7%, the hardness value and corrosion rate increased to 43.5 HRC and 0.179 mm/year. And at a plastic deformation percentage of 8%, the hardness value and corrosion rate reached the highest values of 47.83 HRC and 0.239 mm/year. In metallographic testing, there were phase changes and grain size reduction as a reaction to plastic deformation.
