Abstract

Penelitian ini mempelajari kelayakan produksi massal Asbuton, aspal yang terbentuk secara alami dan banyak ditemukan di Pulau Buton, Sulawesi Tenggara. Dengan meningkatnya permintaan akan bahan konstruksi jalan yang berkelanjutan dan efisien, Asbuton menjadi alternatif yang sangat berharga. Studi ini menilai berbagai faktor yang terkait dengan produksi skala besar, termasuk proses produksi, tata letak fasilitas, implikasi biaya, dan analisis sensitivitas. Studi kelayakan dimulai dari penilaian operasional di mana lokasi pabrik, ukuran pabrik, rencana pabrik, dan persyaratan operasional lainnya disatukan ke dalam tata letak fasilitas. Kemudian, arus kas disusun berdasarkan biaya yang diperlukan untuk memproduksi asbuton dan kebutuhan operasional pabrik. Kelayakan finansial kemudian dihitung dengan menggunakan beberapa indikator analisis finansial, seperti Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, dan Payback Period. Setelah uji kelayakan, penulis melakukan analisis sensitivitas dengan menggunakan indikator perubahan harga untuk mengetahui seberapa sensitif perusahaan terhadap variabel-variabel yang dapat mempengaruhi bisnis di masa yang akan datang. Studi kelayakan operasional dan finansial ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan kemajuan teknologi dan investasi yang tepat, Asbuton dapat menjadi bahan yang layak untuk diproduksi secara massal, menawarkan keuntungan dari segi biaya, keberlanjutan, dan kualitas. Rekomendasi untuk eksplorasi riset di masa depan juga dibahas.

This research delves into the feasibility of mass-producing Asbuton, a naturally occurring asphalt found predominantly in Buton Island, Southeast Sulawesi. Given the rising demand for sustainable and efficient road construction materials, Asbuton presents a potentially valuable alternative. This study assessed various factors related to large-scale production, including production process, facility layout, cost implications, and sensitivity analysis. The feasibility study starts from operational assessment where the plant location, plant size, plant plan, and other operational requirements are put together into a facility layout. Then, a cash flow is compiled based on the costs required to produce asbuton and the operational needs of the plant. Financial feasibility is then calculated using several financial analysis indicators, such as Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, and Payback Period. After the feasibility test, the author conducts sensitivity analysis using indicators of price changes to find out how sensitive the project is to variables that can affect the business in the future. This operational and financial feasibility study shows that with technological advances and appropriate investment, Asbuton can become a viable material for mass production, offering advantages in terms of cost, sustainability and quality. Recommendations for future research exploration are also discussed.
