Abstract

Reclamation is an effort to expand land based on the increasing need for land in the future. One of the reclamation activities to be undertaken is the reclamation of Island G in the DKI Jakarta Province. With the growing housing needs of the population in the DKI Jakarta area, the expansion of Island G is one of the efforts to meet those needs.
Based on soil data, the subsoil conditions in the reclamation area are not favourable. The subsoil conditions in the coastal waters are predominantly clay and a small amount of silty clay with N-SPT (Standard Penetration Test) of zero up to a depth of 10 meters. Due to this, the subsoil has bearing capacity and stability issues. Moreover, the dominant clay subsoil also results in significant compression when subjected to large volumes of fill. The reclamation fill is located in the sea, which inevitably leads to disturbances caused by sea waves. Therefore, in addition to reinforcement, there is a need for accelerated consolidation of the subsoil and coastal protection structures to address these issues.
From the planning results, an accelerated consolidation plan using Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) with the specification CT-D812, an installation length of 8 meters, and a spacing of 1.5 meters in a square pattern. To enhance the stability of the subgrade due to the initial embankment, sand keys are planned with thicknesses in Zone 1, Zone 2, and Zone 3 being 7 meters, 7 meters, and 4 meters, respectively. This results in an average safety factor under static conditions of 1.58, 2.09, and 3.56. Meanwhile, the safety factors under seismic conditions are 1.30, 1.22, and 1.84. The shore protection is installed using crushed stone material along the slope of the embankment. The crest widths of the shore protection in Zone 1, Zone 2, and Zone 3 are 1.0 meter, 1.5 meters, and 4.0 meters, respectively.
