Abstract

This research explores the psychic income of mega-sport events, specifically focusing on the Mandalika MotoGP in Indonesia. The background of this study highlights the rapid growth of mega-sport events in Indonesia and their significant contributions to tourism, business, infrastructure, and local economies. However, it also points out the potential negative impacts on local communities, such as displacement and social disruption. To understand these dynamics, the study employs a mixed-method approach. Quantitative data were gathered through surveys distributed to residents in the Mandalika region, capturing their perceptions and attitudes towards the event and its facilities. Additionally, qualitative data were collected via interviews and focus group discussions to gain deeper insights into the community's experiences and emotional responses. The analysis was conducted using Delphi Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to validate the relationships between variables and assess the overall impact. The results of the study indicate that the Mandalika MotoGP has brought substantial psychic benefits to the local community, reflected in increased business opportunities and improved infrastructure. The findings underscore the importance of inclusive planning and community engagement in hosting mega-sport events to balance economic gains
with social well-being. This research contributes to the broader understanding of mega-sport events' impacts by providing empirical evidence from the Mandalika MotoGP, emphasizing the need for sustainable event planning that considers both economic and social dimensions. The study's outcomes are expected to inform policymakers, event organizers, and community leaders in developing strategies that maximize benefits and mitigate adverse effects for future mega-sport events.
