Abstract

Perpustakaan Kementerian Perhubungan merupakan perpustakaan khusus yang berkedudukan di Badan Kebijakan Transportasi Perhubungan. Dengan koleksi literatur khususnya dalam transportasi, perpustakaan ini melayani kebutuhan pegawai Kementerian Perhubungan dan masyarakat secara luas. Mengikuti standar nasional perpustakaan khusus yang ditetapkan dalam peraturan Perpustakaan Nasional RI Nomor 7 Tahun 2022, Perpustakaan Kementerian Perhubungan memiliki misi untuk memberikan layanan berkualitas tinggi kepada penggunanya khususnya dalam bidang pengetahuan transportasi. Perpustakaan ini memiliki kompetensi khusus yang menjadi unggulan serta prestasi yang sudah didapat dari Perpustakaan Nasional RI berupa Akreditasi A (sangat baik). Dalam perjalanannya, perpustakaan ini masih belum memiliki penunjang identitas untuk diperkenalkan kepada publik. Oleh karena itu diperlukan adanya perancangan brand identity perpustakaan guna membentuk identitas yang kuat untuk menciptakan koneksi emosional dengan pengunjung, sarana pembeda, serta mengenalkan personality atau karakter dari perpustakaan ini kepada publik sesuai dengan kompetensinya. Proses perancangan ini melibatkan data primer dan data sekunder untuk menjadi basis dan acuan jalannya perancangan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada perancangan ini adalah metode kualitatif yang didapat dari studi eksisting, observasi, wawancara, dan depth interview. Dari hasil data yang sudah didapat akan diolah menjadi suatu gagasan untuk dapat membuat luaran, yaitu Graphic Standard Manual (GSM) sebagai brand identity guidelines untuk menjadi pedoman penggunaan visual agar tercipta brand identity yang dituju oleh Perpustakaan Kementerian Perhubungan. Selain GSM, luaran lainnya adalah media-media penunjang terbentuknya brand identity sesuai kebutuhan Perpustakaan Kementerian Perhubungan nantinya.
============================================================The Library of the Ministry of Transportation is a specialized library within the Transportation Policy Agency. With a collection of literature specifically focused on transportation, this library serves the needs of the Ministry of Transportation’s employees and the broader community. Following the national standards for specialized libraries as stipulated in the National Library of Indonesia Regulation No. 7 of 2022, the Ministry of Transportation Library aims to provide high-quality services to its users, particularly in the field of transportation knowledge. The library boasts special competencies as its strengths and has received numerous accolades from the National Library of Indonesia, including an A (excellent) accreditation. Despite its achievements, the library has yet to develop an identity to introduce itself to the public. Therefore, it is necessary to design a brand identity for the library to establish a strong identity that creates an emotional connection with visitors, serves as a distinguishing feature, and introduces the library’s personality or character to the public in line with its competencies. The design process involves primary and secondary data as the basis and reference for the design's progression. The research method used in this design is qualitative, derived from existing studies, observations, interviews, and in-depth interviews. The data obtained will be processed into ideas to create outputs such as a Graphic Standard Manual (GSM) as brand identity guidelines, serving as a guide for the visual usage to achieve the intended brand identity for the Ministry of Transportation Library. Additionally, other outputs will include supporting media necessary for establishing the brand identity according to the future needs of the Ministry of Transportation Library.
