Abstract

Networked Territory is a concept and method in explaining the relationship between nature and architecture territorially. An environmental or site condition is not only caused by aspects of the surrounding environment. However, it can originate from other environments that are far away. The Networked Territory concept shows the relationship between regions that have mutual implications. The relationship originates from social, economic, political and ecological aspects. An active network (many intersections) will change the physical condition of the environment or space around it. By managing the existing network, it can make the current built environment more balanced in terms of social (human) and ecology (environment). The background taken is the river boundary environment. This is because the river area can be part of the interaction of ecological and human networks. The method used is Liquid Planning which connects social and ecological aspects in a holistic connection. The supporting method is Grassrooting, namely the integration of local aspects originating from the surrounding community in the design along with the ecological response to the environment. The proposed design is a tourist area and open public space on the riverbank with various interactions between communities. The design uses the concept of a floating building with a division of zone areas according to the surrounding community. Meanwhile, the river border is used as a green open space.
