Abstract

This research aims to develop a rectangular phased array antenna for ground stations, responding to the demand for cost-effective and reliable infrastructure for LEO satellite communication. Using MATLAB, this study employs innovative techniques such as non-uniform spacing, electrical scanning, and tapering in the design and optimization process. The results show significant changes in the antenna's array and element patterns, with a drastic reduction in sidelobe levels and improved antenna performance. The array configuration, utilizing non-uniform spacing and amplitude tapering, achieves an HPBW of 9.76°, antenna gain of 44.39 dB, and SLL of 27.95 dB,). These techniques enable small beamwidth and high gain with fewer elements, enhancing the overall performance. This research supports space-based service accessibility and satellite technology integration, offering a ground base for next generation ground station antenna, and improves ground station infrastructure capabilities.infrastructure.
