Abstract

Kota Surabaya sebagai ibu kota Provinsi sekaligus pusat wilayah yang memiliki daya tarik besar sebagai tujuan aktivitas seperti mobilitas bekerja, Kabupaten Sidoarjo menjadi salah satu daerah terbanyak yang menjadi pusat bangkitan untuk mobilitas bekerja tersebut, banyaknya jumlah pekerja komuter menjadi salah satu masalah tersendiri, di dukung dengan setelah diberhentikannya pembatasan sosial secara nasional, mobilitas para komuter ini pun menjadi lebih meningkat. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi potensi penerapan sistem telecommuting bagi pekerja komuter di Sidoarjo dan Surabaya setelah berakhirnya pandemi COVID-19. Berdasarkan pernyataan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana telecommuting memiliki potensi yang besar untuk mengurangi beban perjalanan harian. Metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data dari sampel pekerja komuter yang bertempat tinggal di Kabupaten Sidoarjo dan bekerja di Kota Surabaya. Dilanjutkan dengan memberikan gambaran adanya perubahan pola perjalanan komuter, penelitian juga mengidentifikasi berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi penerapan telecommuting di masa kini, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar potensi penerapan telecommuting ini dipengaruhi oleh variabel jenis pekerjaan dan status pekerjaan dengan model regresi logit biner yang dihasilkan adalah P= 1/(1+e^(-(-7,863+2,260 X_1+ 4,605 X_11+4,018 X_12)) ). Selain itu, temuan ini dapat memberikan wawasan berharga bagi perusahaan dan para pembuat kebijakan dalam merancang strategi telecommuting yang efektif, guna mengoptimalkan potensi telecommuting sebagai solusi jangka panjang bagi masalah komuter di Sidoarjo dan Surabaya.

Surabaya, as the capital of the province and a central hub, attracts significant activities such as work mobility. Sidoarjo Regency, with its high number of commuters, becomes a key area for this work-related mobility. The end of national social restrictions has led to a surge in commuter movement. This study explores the potential implementation of a telecommuting system for commuter workers in Sidoarjo and Surabaya after the COVID-19 pandemic. The study aims to understand how telecommuting can significantly reduce daily travel burdens and improve the overall quality of life for workers. A descriptive quantitative research method was used to collect and analyze data from a sample of commuter workers residing in Sidoarjo and working in Surabaya. The study also examines changes in commuter travel patterns and identifies factors influencing the current implementation of telecommuting. The results indicate that the potential implementation of telecommuting is primarily influenced by job type and employment status, with the logistic regression model showing a significant impact (P= 1/(1+e^(-(-7,863+2,260 X_1+ 4,605 X_11+4,018 X_12)) ). Furthermore, the findings reveal that telecommuting can enhance work-life balance and reduce stress levels associated with daily commuting. Additionally, these findings provide valuable insights for companies and policymakers in designing effective telecommuting strategies, optimizing telecommuting as a long-term solution to commuter issues in Sidoarjo and Surabaya. This study highlights the necessity of supportive infrastructure and policies to facilitate a smooth transition to telecommuting practices in the post-pandemic era.
