The rapid development of time and technological advancements have driven the Indonesian government to continually improve the quality of education to address the global challenges of the modern era. As a responsive step, the education curriculum has undergone transformation to enhance and enrich the abilities and skills of students. Every day, students face a diverse and packed school schedule, necessitating the need to carry school equipment that matches their daily agendas. Backpacks are no longer just accessories, but essential needs for students to support their daily activities, whether during travel, learning, extracurricular activities, work, and so on. Therefore, the demand for a supportive and optimal backpack becomes a crucial part of student’s daily activities. Hence, the author designs a school backpack that meets the needs of senior high school students. Not only does it meet practical needs, but also aesthetic needs for senior high school students in Indonesia who commonly apply the full-day school system in implementing learning activities at school. Through detailed business analysis and design concepts presented in the research framework, the addition of an expandable feature that can increase and decrease the volume of the school backpack is expected to enhance its functional value, allowing it to better meet students' needs. This expandable concept is also expected to support various activities and ongoing needs that are dynamic and long-term for junior high school students in all situations and conditions.
