Abstract

Selecting the appropriate scenario based on the workspace ownership requirements is a crucial option to maintain security during the offloading process in accordance with the environmental conditions prevailing in the area. In this scenario selection process, the author retrieves data from PT. X, a case study in the West Natuna Sea, which is used to consider two scenarios: tandem bow-to-stern mooring and single-buoy mooring in the West Natuna Sea. Before the simulation process, the author performs 3D Modeling, Meshing, Validation Mesh, Load Scenario Settings, RAO Analysis, and Mooring Structure Analysis, which will produce geometry response and mooring cable force. Based on the simulation results, the RAO generated through three directions (-180, -135, and -90) concludes that the position RAO in the maximum value of 25 seconds can be maintained at a value around 1, which indicates minimal displacement. In a scenario simulation, mooring properties are included in the simulation, 8 mooring chains are paired to the FSO and 6 mooring chains are paired to the SBM. Considering the three incoming directions (NW, W, and SW) in both scenarios, only the SBM scenario meets the operational weather conditions from all directions (3/3) and in the tandem bow-to-stern scenario only in NW (1/3).
