Abstract
Limbah cair industri yang masih mengandung minyak menjadi masalah serius bagi lingkungan perairan. Material hidrofobik dapat digunakan sebagai material absorben untuk pemisahan air dan minyak. Busa PMHS (Polimetilhidrosiloksan) digunakan sebagai material matriks yang bersifat hidrofobik dan oleofilik. Pada penelitian ini CND (karbon nanodots) difungsionalisasikan ke permukaan busa PMHS. CND disintesis dengan metode hidrotermal yang kemudian dikarakterisasi dengan PSA, FTIR, XRD, TEM, dan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan nanomaterial CND yang telah disintesis berbentuk bulatan titik hitam dengan ukuran rata-rata 2,8 nm dengan struktur grafit karbon sp2. Fungsionalisasi CND ke permukaan PMHS menggunakan metode ultrasonikasi dengan variasi waktu untuk ultrasonikasi sebesar 0 ; 0,5 ; 1 ; 2 ; dan 4 jam. Busa komposit PMHS dikarakterisasi menggunakan XRD dan FTIR untuk melihat sifat fisik dari material beserta pengaruh dari variasi yang digunakan. Penambahan CND pada permukaan PMHS tidak berpengaruh pada sifat struktur pada busa PMHS dengan lingkungan yang amorf. Selain itu dilakukan uji kapasitas absorpsi dengan toluena sebagai absorbat. Nilai kapasitas absorpsi busa adalah 3,3 (g/g) dengan busa PMHS murni mendapatkan nilai kapasitas absorpsi paling tinggi yaitu sebesar 3,52 (g/g) diikuti PMHS/CND 2 sebesar 3,50 (g/g). Berdasar studi ini busa komposit PMHS/CND memiliki potensi dipakai sebagai material pemisahan minyak dan air.

Industrial liquid waste that still contains oil is a serious problem for the aquatic environment. Hydrophobic materials can be used as absorbent materials for the separation of water and oil. PMHS (Polylimetylhydrosiloxane) sponge is used as a matrix material that is hydrophobic and oleopheric. In this study, CND (carbon nanodots) were functionalized to the surface of PMHS sponge. CND were synthesized by hydrothermal methods which were then characterized with PSA, FTIR, XRD, TEM, and UV-Vis Spectrophotometers. The results of the characterization showed that the CND nanomaterials that had been synthesized were in the form of black dot circles with an average size of 2.8 nm with a sp2 carbon graphite structure. Functionalization of CND to PMHS surfaces using the ultrasonication method with a time variation for ultrasonication of 0; 0,5 ; 1 ; 2 ; and 4 hours. PMHS composite sponges are characterized using XRD and FTIR to see the physical properties of the material and the influence of the variations used. The addition of CND on the surface of PMHS has no effect on the structural properties of PMHS sponge with an amorphous environment. In addition, an absorption capacity test was carried out with toluene as an absorbent. The absorption capacity value of sponge is 3.3 (g/g) with pure PMHS sponge getting the highest absorption capacity value of 3.52 (g/g) followed by PMHS/CND 2 of 3,50 (g/g). Based on this study, PMHS/CND composite sponge has the potential to be used as a material for separating oil and water.
