Abstract
Biodiesel, a renewable and eco-friendly alternative to fossil fuels, faces challenges such as degradation due to water contamination. This study investigates the impact of activated alumina desiccant on biodiesel degradation and its subsequent effect on diesel engine performance. By reducing humidity levels in biodiesel storage tanks, activated alumina aims to minimize bacterial growth and maintain fuel quality. The research involves experimental analysis of humidity, bacterial count, and engine performance over an 8-week period. Results indicate that activated alumina effectively lowers humidity and bacterial contamination, leading to improved engine efficiency and reduced fuel consumption. This study highlights the potential of activated alumina in enhancing biodiesel stability and performance.
