Abstract

Nikel merupakan salah satu komoditas yang dibutuhkan oleh berbagai bidang industri. Sejak tahun 1950, secara keseluruhan produksi nikel terus meningkat sebanyak 4% per tahunnya. Pada tahun 2023, Indonesia menduduki urutan pertama sebagai negara penghasil nikel terbesar, berkontribusi terhadap 50% produksi nikel global. Nikel di Indonesia merupakan nikel laterit yang dihasilkan melalui proses pelapukan yang intens pada batuan ultramafik. Nikel laterit di Indonesia banyak terdapat di Pulau Sulawesi dan sekitarnya. Karena permintaan yang terus meningkat, eksplorasi nikel laterit gencar dilakukan. Salah satu metode eksplorasi yang dapat dilakukan yaitu eksplorasi geofisika. Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan pengolahan terhadap data eksplorasi geofisika metode ERT dan data bor yang bertujuan untuk menghitung estimasi volume sumberdaya pada salah satu wilayah tambang milik PT Antam Tbk, yang berlokasi di lapangan X, daerah Konawe Utara, Sulawesi Tenggara. Melalui penelitian ini, respon resistivitas bawah permukaan diketahui dapat mengidentifikasi kenampakan zona saprolite dan zona bedrock dengan baik. Berdasarkan analisis penampang 2D ERT dan data bor, diketahui bahwa penebalan zona saprolite yang terdapat pada area penelitian lapangan X cenderung berada di sisi Timur, sedangkan di sisi Barat cenderung di dominasi oleh zona bedrock yang tebal, mengindikasikan intensitas pelapukan lebih tinggi terjadi di sisi Timur area penelitian. Zona saprolite memiliki nilai 1 – 58 Ohm-m dan zona bedrock 59 – 9651 Ohm-m. Selain itu, hasil korelasi antara data resistivitas dengan data bor digunakan untuk melakukan perhitungan MAPE. Didapatkan nilai persentase MAPE sebesar 21.61%; dalam definisi lain keakuratan antara data resistivitas dengan data bor mencapai 78.39%. Didapatkan nilai volume estimasi sumberdaya nikel laterit pada zona saprolite pada lapangan X sebesar 10.882.700 ton. Serta estimasi jumlah nikel yang berada pada area penelitian yaitu sebanyak 163.240 – 326.481 ton.

Nickel is one of the commodities needed by various industrial fields. Since 1950, overall nickel production has continued to increase by 4% per year. By 2023, Indonesia ranks as the largest nickel-producing country, contributing to 50% of global nickel production. Nickel in Indonesia is lateritic nickel, produced through the intense weathering process of ultramafic rocks. Nickel laterites in Indonesia are abundant on the island of Sulawesi and surrounding areas. Due to the increasing demand, nickel laterite exploration is intensively carried out. One of the exploration methods that can be used is geophysical exploration. In this study, ERT geophysical exploration data and drill data were processed to calculate the estimated resource volume in one of the mining areas owned by PT Antam Tbk, located in field X, North Konawe area, Southeast Sulawesi. Through this research, the subsurface resistivity response is known to identify the appearance of the saprolite zone and bedrock zone well. Based on the analysis of 2D ERT cross-sections and drill data, it is known that the thickening of the saprolite zone in the X field research area tends to be on the east side, while on the west side, it tends to be dominated by thick bedrock zones, indicating that the intensity of weathering is higher on the east side of the research area. The saprolite zone has a value of 1 - 58 Ohm-m and the bedrock zone 59 - 9651 Ohm-m. In addition, the results of the correlation between resistivity data and drill data were used to calculate MAPE. A MAPE percentage value of 21.61% was obtained; in other words, the accuracy between resistivity data and drill data reached 78.39%. The estimated volume value of nickel laterite resources in the saprolite zone in field X is 10,882,700 tons. And the estimated amount of nickel in the research area is 163,240 - 326,481 tons.
