Abstrak
Bow thruster yang saat ini digunakan oleh Kapal Motor Penyebrangan Jatra 1 akan digantikan oleh bow thruster baru yang disesuaikan dengan perhitungan dan spesifikasi yang telah ditetapkan. Tugas Bow thruster adalah membantu manuver kapal saat bersandar atau berbelok. Tujuan dari tugas penelitian ini atau skripsi ini adalah untuk menyelidiki gaya dorong yang dihasilkan dari perubahan kinerja atau performa Bow thruster terhadap pengaruh perubahan Diameter. Dengan menggunakan aplikasi computational fluid dynamic (CFD), penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana perubahan Diameter pada Gaya dorong bow thruster baru pada Kapal Motor Penyerbangan KMP Jatra 1. Bow thruster lama menghasilkan 40 KN dari simulasi CFD pada 1800 RPM dan diameter 1425 mm, sedangkan perhitungan menghasilkan 29 KN untuk gaya dorong yang di butuhkan. Bow thruster baru memiliki spesifikasi 30 KN dan diameter 950 mm, dan menghasilkan gaya dorong 32 KN dari simulasi CFD dengan kecepatan 1050 RPM. Dilihat dari hasil simulasi ada pengaruh performa pada bow thruster baru dari bow thruster lama karena memiliki Gaya dorong yang berbeda dan setiap Bow thruster memliki ukuran yang berbeda. Bow thruster lama memiliki efisensi sebesar 73% dan bow thruster baru memiliki efisensi sebesar 91% dari gaya dorong yang dibutuhkan adalah 29KN.

Abstrack
The bow thruster currently used by the Jatra 1 Ferry Motor Ship will be replaced by a new bow thruster that is adjusted to the calculations and specifications that have been set. The task of the Bow thruster is to assist the ship's maneuver when docking or turning. The purpose of this research task or thesis is to investigate the thrust force resulting from changes in Bow thruster performance or performance against the influence of changes in Diameter. By using the computational fluid dynamic (CFD) application, this study investigates how the Diameter changes the Thrust Force of the new bow thruster on the KMP Jatra 1 Ferry Motor Ship. The old bow thruster produces 40 KN from the CFD simulation at 1800 RPM and a diameter of 1425 mm, while the calculation produces 29 KN for the required thrust force. The new bow thruster has a specification of 30 KN and a diameter of 950 mm, and produces a thrust force of 32 KN from the CFD simulation at a speed of 1050 RPM. Judging from the simulation results, there is an effect on the performance of the new bow thruster from the old bow thruster because it has a different Thrust Force and each Bow thruster has a different size. The old bow thruster has an efficiency of 73% and the new bow thruster has an efficiency of 91% of the required thrust force is 29KN.
