Abstract

Perkembangan industri pelayaran telah bergeser ke arah di mana emisi kapal yang tinggi telah menjadi salah satu perhatian utama yang harus diperhatikan. Ini juga dikenal sebagai pelayaran hijau, yang memiliki salah satu tujuan utama untuk mengurangi emisi karbon. Dalam mengurangi emisi karbon dari kapal, pemanfaatan amonia sebagai bahan bakar mesin kapal bisa menjadi metode yang paling efektif dan berkelanjutan. Namun, pengembangan jangka panjang masih diperlukan agar amonia dapat sepenuhnya digunakan sebagai bahan bakar mesin utama untuk mendorong kapal. Metode yang lebih realistis untuk memanfaatkan amonia sebagai bahan bakar adalah dengan menggunakan mesin bahan bakar ganda amonia-diesel sebagai sistem propulsi utama kapal. Tujuan dari analisis ini adalah untuk menentukan apakah mesin bahan bakar ganda amonia-diesel dapat menjadi solusi untuk masalah emisi industri pelayaran. Metode yang akan dilakukan dalam analisis ini adalah perhitungan emisi yang dihasilkan dari kapal bahan bakar ganda amonia-diesel, perbandingan hasil dengan emisi kapal bahan bakar fosil dari data, dan juga perhitungan dan perbandingan analisis biaya-manfaat.

The development of shipping industry has been shifting to the direction where high ship emission has been one of the main concerns to be taken care of. This is also known as green shipping, which has one of the primary goals of reducing carbon emissions. In reducing carbon emission from ships, the utilization of a ammonia as the ship engine fuel could be the most effective and sustainable method. However, longer term developments are still required for the ammonia to be fully used as the main engine fuel for propelling a ship. A more realistic method for utilizing ammonia as fuel is to use ammonia-diesel dual fuel engine as the main propulsion system of a ship. The purpose of this analysis is to determine whether the ammonia-diesel dual fuel engine could be the solution for the shipping industry emission problem. The methods which will be done in this analysis are calculation of emission produced from ammonia-diesel dual fuelled ship, comparison of the results with the emission of fossil fuelled ship from the data, and also cost-benefit analysis calculation and comparison.
