Abstract
Salah satu permasalahan yang sering terjadi pada sistem distribusi listrik adalah gangguan pada sistem proteksi, sehingga diperlukan koordinasi sistem proteksi yang baik. Untuk memastikan bahwa overcurrent relay (OCR) memberikan koordinasi proteksi yang efektif dan efisien, Time Dial Setting (TDS) harus diatur dengan benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung nilai TDS yang optimal untuk OCR menggunakan Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA). Metode ini dijalankan menggunakan software MATLAB, dan hasil optimasi disimulasikan menggunakan software ETAP. Hasil optimasi TDS menggunakan CSA akan dibandingkan dengan Firefly Algorithm (FA) sebagai metode pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode CSA lebih unggul dibandingkan FA, dengan rata-rata waktu operasi rele lebih cepat. CSA juga lebih efektif dalam memenuhi batasan seperti Coordination Time Interval (CTI) minimal 0,2 detik dan arus inrush serta starting motor. Dengan hasil ini, CSA terbukti mampu menghasilkan pengaturan proteksi yang lebih stabil dan efisien dalam menyelesaikan masalah koordinasi proteksi rele.

One of the problems that often occurs in electrical distribution systems is interference with the protection system, which requires coordination of a correct protection system. To ensure that the overcurrent relay (OCR) provides effective and efficient protection coordination, the Time Dial Setting (TDS) must be set correctly. This research aims to calculate the optimal TDS value for OCR using Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA). This method is implemented in MATLAB software, and the optimisation results are simulated using ETAP software. TDS optimisation results using CSA were compared with Firefly Algorithm (FA). The results show that the CSA method is better than FA, with a faster average relay operation time. CSA is also more effective in complying with constraints such as Coordination Time Interval (CTI) of at least 0.2 seconds and inrush current and motor starting. With this result, CSA is proved to be able to produce protection settings that are more stable, reliable, and efficient in solving protection coordination problems.
