Abstract

Kegiatan industri pertambangan merupakan salah satu industri yang sangat diperhatikan karena daerah bekas pertambangan dapat mudah merusak dan memberikan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan, salah satunya adalah industri Bauksit. Beberapa penelitian terkait penambangan bauksit telah dilaksanakan dan memfokuskan mengenai dampak tailing bauksit/red mud karena alkalinitasnya yang tinggi dan tingginya kadar logam beracun. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya upaya dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan mtersebut. Salah satu metode treatment yang bisa digunakan adalah phytomining atau metode kemampuan tumbuhan dalam mengekstrak logam berat. Tumbuhan yang dapat digunakan yaitu bersifat hiperakumulator atau mengakumulasi logam dengan konsentrasi tinggi di dalam tumbuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga variabel, yaitu variabel unsur yang akan diuptake, tumbuhan yang berbeda dengan penambahan pupuk kandang 10% pada red mud serta variasi perlakuan penambahan maupun tanpa penambahan bakteri Chromobacterium piscinae. Sampel red mud yang digunakan berasal dari PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina dengan jenis fresh red mud dan akan dilakukan penelitian eksperimental pada skala laboratorium. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 28 hari di Laboratorium Remediasi, Departemen Teknik Lingkungan ITS. Parameter utama dalam penelitian yaitu logam berat vanadium dan kromium, sedangkan parameter pendukung yaitu morfologi tumbuhan, pH, Electrical Conductivity, soil moisture, berat basah dan kering tumbuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 reaktor berupa pot bunga dengan diameter atas 16 cm, diameter bawah 14 cm, dan tinggi 14 cm. Pada penelitian utama, reaktor tersebut digunakan untuk tahap preparasi menggunakan instrumen ICP-OES. Preparasi pada media campuran red mud dan pupuk kandang menggunakan larutan aquaregia dan EDTA sedangkan pada tumbuhan yang akan dibagi sesuai kebutuhan ekstraksi menggunakan larutan aquaregia.
Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa tumbuhan Philodendron hederaceum menunjukkan kemampuan uptake yang lebih baik dibandingkan Opuntia cochenillifera pada logam berat Vanadium (V) dan Kromium (Cr), dengan akumulasi logam tertinggi mencapai 45,13 mg/kg pada unsur Cr dan sebesar 69,40 mg/kg pada unsur V di hari ke-28. Selain itu, nilai TF tumbuhan Philodendron hederaceum tertinggi mencapai 0,23 pada hari ke-7 dan BCF tertinggi mencapai 3,08 pada hari ke-28. Pengaruh adanya penambahan bakteri Chromobacterium piscinae dapat meningkatkan kemampuan uptake tumbuhan dalam semua reaktor.

Mining industry activities are one industry that is of great concern because former mining areas can easily be damaged and have a negative impact on the environment, one of which is the Bauxite industry. Several studies related to bauxite mining have been carried out and focus on impacts tailing bauxite/red mud due to its high alkalinity and high levels of toxic metals. Therefore, efforts need to be made to resolve this problem. One method treatment that can be used is phytomining or methods of plants' ability to extract heavy metals. Plants that can be used are hyperaccumulators or accumulate metals in high concentrations in plants.
This research uses three variables, namely the element variables that will be studieduptake, different plants with the addition of 10% manure to red mud as well as variations in treatments with or without the addition of bacteria Chromobacterium reservoirs. Sample red mud The type used comes from PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina fresh red mud and experimental research will be carried out on a laboratory scale. The research was carried out for 28 days at the Remediation Laboratory, ITS Environmental Engineering Department. The main parameters in the research are the heavy metals vanadium and chromium, while the supporting parameters are plant morphology, pH, Electrical Conductivity, soil moisture, wet and dry weight of plants. This research used 30 reactors in the form of flower pots with a top diameter of 16 cm, a bottom diameter of 14 cm, and a height of 14 cm. In the main research, the reactor was used for the preparation stage using the ICP-OES instrument. Preparation on mixed media red mud and manure using aquaregia and EDTA solution while for plants that will be divided according to extraction needs using aquaregia solution. This research reveals that plants Philodendron ivy showed better uptake capability in comparison Opuntia cochenillifera in the heavy metals Vanadium (V) and Chromium (Cr), with the highest metal accumulation reaching 45.13 mg/kg in the Cr element and 69.40 mg/kg in the V element on the 28th day. In addition, the TF value of plants Philodendron ivy The highest reached 0.23 on the 7th day and the highest BCF reached 3.08 on the 28th day. The effect of adding bacteria Chromobacterium reservoirs can increase the uptake capacity of plants in all reactors.
