Abstract
RO telah menjadi solusi penting untuk pemurnian air di banyak industri. Namun, meskipun penggunaannya meluas dan keahlian penggunanya, sistem RO tradisional masih menghadirkan tantangan operasional yang serius. Puluhan ribu sistem RO industri yang digunakan saat ini terhambat oleh pengotoran organik dan biologis, yang menurunkan tingkat kinerja sistem secara keseluruhan dan menyebabkan masa pakai membran menjadi pendek.
Pompa adalah jantung dari sistem pengolahan air rumah tangga. Fungsinya adalah untuk mengalirkan air dari tangki penyimpanan melalui berbagai tahap pengolahan. Pemilihan pompa yang tepat sangat penting untuk memastikan aliran air yang konsisten dan tekanan yang memadai. Flint and Walling RO pumps adalah contoh pompa berkualitas tinggi yang sering digunakan dalam sistem reverse osmosis. Pada PT. XYZ membutuhkan instalasi pompa untuk mendukung transportasi fluida dari satu tempat ke tempat lain. Pada studi kasus di PT XYZ dibutuhkan perencanaan intalasi pompa dari Pond 2 menuju SWRO (Sea Water Reverse Osmosis) untuk membantu memastikan bahwa instalasi pompa dengan kapasitas 300 m3/jam dirancang dengan baik dan efisien, sesuai dengan kebutuhan proyek dan mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor penting yang terlibat dalam memindahkan fluida dari satu tempat ke tempat lain. Tahapan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 tahap yaitu metode perhitungan manual dan metode analisa numerik untuk mengetahui diameter pipa dan nilai head efektif pada instalasi pompa menggunakan software Pipe Flow Expert. Variasi yang digunakan ialah perbandingan diemater nominal pada pipa discharge yaitu, ∅6

RO has become an essential solution for water purification in many industries. However, despite its widespread use and user expertise, traditional RO systems still present serious operational challenges. Tens of thousands of industrial RO systems in use today are hampered by organic and biological contaminants, which degrade overall system performance and shorten membrane life. Pumps are the heart of a domestic water treatment system. Their function is to move water from a storage tank through the various stages of treatment. Selecting the right pump is critical to ensuring consistent water flow and adequate pressure. Flint and Walling RO pumps are examples of high-quality pumps that are often used in reverse osmosis systems. At PT. XYZ, pump installation is needed to support fluid transportation from one location to another. In the case study at PT XYZ, pump installation planning is needed from Pond 2 to SWRO (Sea Water Reverse Osmosis) to help ensure that the pump installation is well designed and efficient, according to project needs and considering the important factors involved in moving fluids from one location to another. The stages in this study consist of 2 stages, namely the manual calculation method and the numerical analysis method to find effective head using Pipe Flow Expert software. The variation used is the comparison of the nominal diameter of the discharge pipe, namely, ∅6 in, ∅8 in, ∅10 in, so that the size of the fittings used will also be different in size to adjust the diameter of the discharge pipe. Based on these variations, recommendations will be obtained for redesigning the waste treatment pump installation from POND 2 to SWRO.
