Abstract

Senyawa kompleks merupakan senyawa yang terbentuk karena adanya ikatan kovalen koordinasi antara ligan dengan ion pusat. Pada penelitian ini, ligan berbasis tiosemikarbazida dan salisilaldehida telah berhasil disintesis menggunakan refluks yang menghasilkan ligan 1-(2-Hidroksibenzilidena)-4-Fenil-3-Tiosemikarbazida (L). Ligan (L) berupa padatan berwarna putih kekuningan dengan rendemen sebesar 96,98%. Ligan (L) dikoordinasikan dengan ion logam Zn(II) menghasilkan kompleks Zn(II)-1-(2-hidroksibenzilidena)-4-Fenil-3-Tiosemikarbazida (ZnL) berupa padatan berwarna putih kekuningan dengan rendemen sebesar 88,51%. Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan adanya serapan khas berupa ikatan Zn-N dan Zn-O masing-masing pada bilangan gelombang 464 cm-1 dan 574 cm-1. Analisis UV-Vis menunjukkan panjang gelombang kompleks ZnL pada 390 nm. Analisis TGA menunjukkan dekomposisi kompleks terjadi pada suhu 68-105˚C serta pada suhu 600°C menghasilkan residu Zn(II) Oksida (ZnO). Fragmentasi tertinggi pada data MS yakni 371,16 m/z yang menunjukkan senyawa kompleks memiliki rumus molekul [Zn(L)(H2O)]Cl dengan perbandingan mol ion logam dan ligan (1:1). Interpretasi XRD powder menunjukkan bahwa senyawa kompleks memiliki fasa kristalin dengan bentuk triklinik.

Complex compounds are compounds formed due to the coordination covalent bond between the ligand and the central ion. In this study, thiosemicarbazide and salicylaldehyde-based ligands have been successfully synthesised using reflux to produce 1-(2-Hydroxybenzylidene)-4-Phenyl-3-Thiosemicarbazide (L). Ligand (L) is a yellowish white solid with a yield of 96.98%. Ligand (L) was coordinated with Zn(II) metal ion to produce Zn(II)-1-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazide complex (ZnL) in the form of yellowish white solid with yield of 88.51%. FTIR spectra showed typical absorption of Zn-N and Zn-O bonds at wave numbers 464 cm-1 and 574 cm-1. UV-Vis analysis showed the wavelength of the ZnL complex at 390 nm. TGA analysis showed the decomposition of the complex occurred at 68-105˚C and at 600°C produced residual Zn(II) Oxide (ZnO). The highest fragmentation in MS data is 371.16 m/z which shows the complex compound has the molecular formula [Zn(L)(H2O)]Cl with a mole ratio of metal ions and ligands (1:1). XRD powder interpretation shows that the complex compound has a crystalline phase with a triclinic shape.
