Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan desain set meja dan kursi kafe outdoor dengan material hybrid kayu-semen yang lebih ringan tanpa mengesampingkan kebutuhan struktural. Solusi ini mengurangi penggunaan beton konvensional yang destruktif bagi lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan limbah kayu industri. Beton konvensional berkontribusi pada urban heat island, penurunan nutrisi tanah seperti fosfor dan kalium, serta gangguan pertumbuhan tanaman. Berdasarkan strategi dekarbonisasi UNDP, penelitian ini mencampurkan limbah kayu dengan semen untuk mengembangkan material bio-based. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode design thinking digunakan. Empat rasio campuran dibuat, mengganti agregat halus 0-15% dengan kayu, serta satu rasio tanpa agregat kasar. Penggantian 15% agregat halus mengurangi berat material 23%, sementara tanpa agregat kasar mengurangi 28%. Material hybrid ini dapat diwarnai dan diolah seperti semen biasa, menawarkan potensi furnitur ramah lingkungan dengan estetika berkonsep biophilic.

This study designs an outdoor café furniture set using wood-cement hybrid material to reduce weight while maintaining structural integrity. It replaces conventional concrete, which harms the environment, with industrial wood waste to address urban heat islands and soil nutrient loss. Guided by UNDP’s decarbonization strategy, bio-based material was developed by mixing wood waste with cement. A qualitative approach and design thinking method were employed. Four mix ratios replaced 0-15% fine aggregate with wood, and one excluded coarse aggregate. Replacing 15% fine aggregate reduced weight by 23%, while excluding coarse aggregate reduced it by 28%. This hybrid material can be colored and processed like conventional cement, showcasing potential for eco-friendly furniture with biophilic aesthetics.
