Abstract

Adaptive reuse memungkinkan arsitek untuk menghidupkan kembali bangunan-bangunan yang terbengkalai, terlepas dari penyebab kematian bangunan tersebut. Proposal ini akan membahas parameter-parameter (fisik dan non-fisik) dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesuksesan proses adaptive reuse. Prinsip-prinsip adaptive reuse diimplementasikan dalam upaya menghidupkan kembali Pabrik Gula De Maas di Situbondo dan meningkatkan aspek arsitektural yang dapat ditingkatkan atau dikembangkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan (needs) dari warga sekitar.

Adaptive reuse allows architects to bring abandoned buildings back to life, regardless of the cause of their death. This proposal will discuss the parameters (physical and non-physical) and factors that influence the success of the adaptive reuse process. The principles of adaptive reuse are implemented in an effort to revive the De Maas Sugar Factory in Situbondo and improve architectural aspects that can be improved or developed according to the needs of local residents.
