Abstract
PT XYZ Indonesia, sebagai perusahaan multinasional dalam bidang manufaktur filter rokok, menghadapi tantangan dalam memenuhi permintaan konsumen yang terus meningkat, khususnya untuk produk filter capsule yang saat ini sangat diminati. Dengan berbagai jenis filter yang diproduksi, seperti mono, mono thread menthol, mono capsule, combined, dan special filter, perusahaan dihadapkan pada masalah overload mesin dan waktu changeover yang panjang. Mesin filter capsule mampu memproduksi filter sekitar 2.777 filter per menit, pada saat changeover mesin memproduksi 1 first tray untuk data actual, 1 first tray memiliki jumlah 9.600 filter. Dalam satu bulan ada 8 kali changeover, selain itu, presentase cacat pada produk, terutama pada pemasangan capsule yang salah posisi, mencapai 9.4% dari total per hari selama produktivitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi waktu changeover dan menurunkan cacat produksi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas mesin. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED). Metode ini dapat memperbaiki efisiensi waktu pada saat changeover, sementara analisis defect menggunakan metode five why’s method yang bertujuan untuk memecahkan masalah defect produk selama produksi. Hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode SMED didapatkan penurunan waktu setup changeover dari 19 jam menjadi 7 jam 26 menit dengan diimplementasikan metode SMED, dengan merubah aktivitas internal ke eksternal serta merampingkan seluruh aspek setup. Hasil analisis defect posisi capsule dengan metode five why’s dengan presentase defect 9.4 % menjadi 4.4 %.

PT XYZ Indonesia, as a multinational company in cigarette filter manufacturing, faces challenges in meeting increasing consumer demand, especially for capsule filter products which are currently in high demand. With varioustypes of filters produced,such as mono, mono thread menthol, mono capsule, combined, and special filters, the company is faced with the problem of machine overload and long changeover time. The capsule filter machine is capable of producing about 2,777 filters per minute, during changeover the machine produces 1 fist tray for actual data, 1 fist tray has a total of 9,600 filters. In one month there were 8 changeovers, In addition, the percentage of defects in products, especially in the installation of capsules in the wrong position, reached 9.4% of the total per day during productivity. This research aims to reduce changeover time and decrease production defects to improve machine productivity. The method used isthe Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED). This method can improve time efficiency during changeover, while defect analysis uses the five why’s method aimed at solving product defect issues during production. The results of the analysis that has been done by applying the SMED method obtained a decrease in setup changeover time from 19 hours to 7 hours 26 minutes by implementing the SMED method, by changing internal activities to external and streamlining all aspects of the setup. The results of the capsule position defect analysis using the five why's method with a defect percentage of 9.4% to 4.4%.
