Abstract
Seiring berjalannya waktu, musik di Indonesia menjadi bervariasi hingga dapat melahirkan berbagai musisi legendaris, salah satunya Dewa 19. Grup Band yang beberapa kali mengalami pergantian personil dan formasi ini telah menghasilkan delapan album studio, empat album kompilasi, dua album live (Kusharsanto, 2024). Adapun perumusan masalah adalah bagaimana merancang video eksplanasi motion graphic kronologis band legendaris Indonesia, Dewa 19 hingga album ketiga. Terdapat video eksplanasi milik kanal pribadi Ridwan Frey dengan judul “Sejarah Band Dewa 19 | Bahas Tuntas Awal Mula Mulai Dewa 19” yang memberikan pembahasan dengan jelas namun hanya berisikan cuplikan video dan foto-foto asli milik Dewa 19. Oleh karena itu, tujuan yang dapat dicapai adalah membuat video eksplanasi motion graphic Dewa 19 dan melengkapi serta meningkatkan video eksplanasi Dewa 19 sebelumnya. Perancangan ini disusun dengan menggunakan pengumpulan data dari studi eksisting dan studi literatur, lalu dilakukan depth interview, setelah itu naskah dan storyboard akan divalidasi melalui depth interview dengan ahli motion designer. Hasil yang didapatkan digunakan sebagai acuan pembuatan prototype yang akan digunakan dalam user testing. Hasil dari user testing akan digunakan dalam pembuatan video final. Hasil dari pengumpulan data dan depth interview menghasilkan naskah sekitar satu lembar A4 dengan storyboard yang terbagi menjadi enam bagian yaitu pembuka, awal terbentuk, album pertama, album kedua, album ketiga, penutup. Naskah dan storyboard menghasilkan prototype dengan durasi 1 menit 16 detik yang digunakan dalam user testing kepada 55 orang. Hasil video final berdurasi sekitar 6 menit dengan format video beresolusi 1920x1080 24 fps dengan gaya gambar semi realis dan dilakukan user test dari hasil final design. Dengan perancangan ini diaharapkan Generasi Z dapat lebih mengetahui tentang grup band Dewa 19 serta dapat memberikan motivasi untuk melahirkan musisi–musisi hebat lainnya.

Over time, music in Indonesia has become increasingly diverse, giving rise to various legendary musicians, one of whom is Dewa 19. This band, which has undergone several changes in personnel and formation, has produced eight studio albums, four compilation albums, and two live albums (Kusharsanto, 2024). The research problem formulated in this study is: how to design an explanatory motion graphic video depicting the chronology of the legendary Indonesian band, Dewa 19, up to their third album. There is an existing explanatory video on Ridwan Frey’s personal channel titled “Sejarah Band Dewa 19 | Bahas Tuntas Awal Mula Mulai Dewa 19” which provides a clear discussion but only consists of original video clips and photos of Dewa 19. Therefore, the objective of this study is to create an explanatory motion graphic video about Dewa 19 while complementing and enhancing the existing explanatory video. This design process involves data collection through an existing study and literature review, followed by in-depth interviews. The script and storyboard will then be validated through an in-depth interview with a motion design expert. The results will serve as the basis for developing a prototype, which will be used in user testing. The outcomes of the user testing will then inform the production of the final video. The data collection and in-depth interviews resulted in a script approximately one A4 page long, accompanied by a storyboard divided into six sections: introduction, band formation, first album, second album, third album, and conclusion. The script and storyboard led to the creation of a prototype with a duration of 1 minute and 16 seconds, which was tested by 55 participants. The final video has a duration of approximately 6 minutes, with a resolution of 1920x1080 at 24 fps, featuring a semi-realistic visual style. A user test was conducted on the final design to evaluate its effectiveness. This project is expected to help Generation Z gain a deeper understanding of Dewa 19 and inspire the emergence of more great musicians in the future.
