Abstract
Senyawa kompleks adalah material yang tersusun atas ion logam dan ligan yang terikat secara kovalen koordinasi. Penentuan karakter ligan berpengaruh besar dalam bioaktivitas, khususnya sebagai agen antikanker. Pada penelitian ini telah berhasil disintesis senyawa kompleks Ni(II)-hidrazon dengan warna merah kecoklatan (reddish brown). Ligan hidrazon berasal dari hasil reaksi benzohidrazida dengan benzaldehid (1A) / 2-hidroksi benzaldehid (1B). Padatan ligan dan kompleks mengabsorpsi sinar UV-Vis masing-masing pada panjang gelombang 298 dan 328 nm. Analisis menggunakan FTIR menunjukkan adanya ikatan logam dan ligan pada bilangan gelombang 686 cm-1 yang identik dengan vibrasi Ni-N. Fragmentasi spektroskopi massa menunjukkan senyawa kompleks tersusun dengan perbandingan mol logam dan mol ligan 1:1. Hasil ini didukung data TGA dimana senyawa kompleks memiliki rumus molekul [Ni(L)(H2O)2]Cl2. Interpretasi powder XRD menunjukkan bahwa senyawa kompleks berbentuk kristal dan memiliki kemiripan dengan material standar. Persentase yield yang didapatkan untuk ligan sebesar 62,92% dan kompleks 32,72 %.

Complex compounds are materials composed of metal ions and ligands bound by coordination covalent. Determination of ligand character has a major influence on bioactivity, especially as an anticancer agent. In this study, a reddish brown Ni(II)-hydrazone complex compound has been successfully synthesized. The hydrazone ligand comes from the reaction of benzohydrazide with benzaldehyde (1A) / 2-hydroxy benzaldehyde (1B). The ligand and complex solids absorb UV-Vis light at wavelengths of 298 and 328 nm, respectively. Analysis using FTIR shows the presence of metal and ligand bonds at a wave number of 686 cm-1 which is identical to the Ni-N vibration. Mass spectroscopy fragmentation shows that the complex compound is composed with a mole ratio of metal and ligand moles of 1:1. These results are supported by TGA data where the complex compound has a molecular formula of [Ni(L)(H2O)2]Cl2. Interpretation of powder XRD shows that the complex compound is crystalline and has similarities to standard materials. The yield percentage obtained for the ligand was 62.92% and the complex 32.72%.
