Abstract
Pembelajaran sejarah memiliki peran penting dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai kepahlawanan bagi generasi muda, namun sering kali dianggap membosankan karena metode pengajaran yang kurang menarik. Di era digital saat ini, anak-anak lebih mengenal tokoh-tokoh artis dibandingkan pahlawan nasional, yang berpotensi mengurangi rasa nasionalisme dan kecintaan terhadap tanah air. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi dalam media pembelajaran, salah satunya melalui video eksplanasi motion graphic yang lebih interaktif dan mudah dipahami dibandingkan buku teks. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk merancang video eksplanasi motion graphic sebagai media edukatif bagi anak SD usia 8-12 tahun dalam mengenal tokoh pahlawan nasional Indonesia, khususnya Ki Hajar Dewantara.
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kajian pustaka, studi literatur, segmentasi target audiens, depth interview dan prototyping. Kajian pustaka dilakukan untuk mengkaji teori terkait motion graphic, termasuk jenis, alur, warna, dan tipografi. Studi literatur menggunakan buku ESPS vol. 2 dan jurnal sebagai sumber utama untuk memahami materi tokoh pahlawan nasional yang diajarkan di sekolah dasar. Depth interview dilakukan dengan beberapa narasumber, termasuk guru sejarah dan ahli motion graphic, guna memperoleh informasi tentang materi pembelajaran dan teknik pembuatan motion graphic. Hasil penelitian kemudian diuji melalui user testing, dan final desain disusun berdasarkan umpan balik untuk menghasilkan video eksplainer berdurasi 8 menit.
Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, dimulai dari kajian pustaka dan studi literatur untuk menyusun konsep motion graphic, dilanjutkan dengan depth interview bersama guru sejarah dan ahli motion graphic guna menyempurnakan konten serta teknik visualisasi. Setelah itu, dibuat naskah dan storyboard yang kemudian diuji melalui user testing untuk mengukur efektivitas media ini dalam menyampaikan materi sejarah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motion graphic dapat meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman anak-anak terhadap sejarah tokoh pahlawan nasional Indonesia. Video yang dihasilkan memiliki durasi sekitar 8 menit dengan resolusi 1920x1080 piksel dalam format MP4. Berdasarkan hasil user testing, mayoritas responden merasa bahwa konten visual dan narasi dalam motion graphic ini menarik dan membantu mereka dalam memahami materi sejarah. Oleh karena itu, media ini dapat menjadi alternatif pembelajaran interaktif di sekolah dasar untuk meningkatkan kesadaran anak-anak tentang nilai-nilai kepahlawanan.

History education plays a crucial role in instilling the values of heroism in the younger generation. However, it is often considered boring due to unengaging teaching methods. In today's digital era, children are more familiar with celebrities than national heroes, which may reduce their sense of nationalism and love for their country. Therefore, innovation in educational media is necessary, one of which is through explanatory motion graphic videos that are more interactive and easier to understand than textbooks. This study aims to design an explanatory motion graphic video as an educational tool for elementary school children aged 8-12 years to introduce them to Indonesia's national heroes, specifically Ki Hajar Dewantara.
This research was conducted using literature review, audience segmentation, depth interviews, and prototyping methods. The literature review examined theories related to motion graphics, including types, flow, color, and typography. The study used ESPS vol. 2 and academic journals as the main sources to understand national hero materials taught in elementary schools. Depth interviews were conducted with several sources, including history teachers and motion graphic experts, to gather information about learning materials and motion graphic production techniques. The research results were then tested through user testing, and the final design was developed based on feedback to produce an eight- minute explanatory video.
The research was carried out in several stages, starting with a literature review and study to develop the motion graphic concept, followed by depth interviews with history teachers and motion graphic experts to refine the content and visualization techniques. After that, a script and storyboard were created and tested through user testing to measure the effectiveness of this media in delivering historical content. The results indicate that motion graphics can enhance children's interest and understanding of Indonesia's national heroes. The final video has a duration of approximately eight minutes, with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in MP4 format. Based on user testing results, most respondents found the visual content and narration engaging and helpful in understanding historical material. Therefore, this media can serve as an interactive learning alternative in elementary schools to increase children's awareness of heroism values.
