Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Analysis of Factor Causing Delays in The PT XYZ Gas Compressor Facility EPC Project Using FTA Method". This thesis discussed a case of delay EPC project for gas compressor facilities to maintain gas production at PT XYZ so that the daily volume of gas sales to buyers can be maintained even though gas wells begin to pressure decline, thus contributing to achieving national lifting gas in accordance with the APBN 2024 . This project is targeted to be onstream on March 31 2024, but it will only be realized on May 27 2024. Project success factors are greatly influenced by the competence of the project manager because have great authority and responsibility at various stages of a project.
This research aims to analyze the main causes of project delays and find solutions for future learning. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach using secondary data and questionnaires to obtain the main causes, then analyzed using a fault tree to obtain basic causal and mitigating factors. Data collection from secondary data and questionnaires to 12 respondents who have competence in project management in the upstream oil and gas industry with more than 5 years of experience and involvement in more than 5 projects with a background from professional project management as well as from upstream oil and gas monitoring functions, PSC, and Contractors.
The results of the analysis obtained 9 basic causes related to skills and knowledge area of project management. So it is very important to test the competency of prospective project managers, including aspects of personality and knowledge of project management.
