Abstract

Penggunaan bahan bakar diesel diprediksi akan meningkat setiap tahunnya. Dikarenakan bertambah banyaknya penggunaan bahan bakar diesel pada kendaraan pribadi seperti mobil, peningkatan dalam memilih penggunaan bahan bakar diesel karena dirasa cukup efisien. Regulasi terhadap penggunaan bahan bakar diesel sudah di atur dalam regulasi Euro 4, dan yang terbaru pada standar Euro 5 dengan kandungan sulfur ultra rendah (10ppm). Di indonesia sendiri memiliki berbagai macam bahan bakar diesel berbeda vendor di mulai dari pertamina dengan Pertamina Dex, Shell dengan Shell Diesel Extra, sedangkan PT BP AKR mengelola bahan bakar BP Diesel. Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan bakar Pertamina Dex, Shell Diesel, Bp Diesel. Pada setiap bahan bakar dilakukan tiga pengujian yaitu, uji properties bahan bakar, uji performa dan emisi mesin diesel. Kemufdian dialukan perhitungan ntuk mendapatkan nilai-nilai nilai�nilai Daya, Torsi, Spesific Fuel ompsumtion (SFC), Efisiensi Thermal, dan Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP) sebagai parameter performa serta Smoke Opacity sebagai parameter kualitas emisi dari ketiga jenis bahan bakar Uji performa mesin diesel dilakukan dengan putaran konstan pada 2200 rpm dan beban yang bervariasi dari 500 W hingga 4000 W dengan interval 500 W. Dari penelitian ini, didapatkan hasil bahwa torsi terbesar dihasilkan oleh bahan bakar Bp Diesel sebesar 12,30 Nm kemudian diikuti oleh Pertamina Dex sebesar 12,24 Nm dan Shell Diesel sebesar12,22 Nm. Daya terbesar dihasilkan oleh Bp Diesel sebesar 2832,94 Watt Nm kemudian diikuti oleh Pertamina Dex sebesar 2817,78 Watt dan Shell Diesel sebesar 2813,70 Watt, sehingga dari parameter torsi dan daya, BP Diesel memiliki performa terbaik namun dengan nilai yang tidak berbeda jauh dengan bahan bakar lain. BMEP terbesar dihasilkan oleh bahan bakar Bp Diesel sebesar 311603,63 N/m2 kemdian diikuti oleh pertamina Dex sebesar 309935,41 N/m2 dan Shell Diesel sebesar 309487,01 N/m2 , sehingga dari parameter BMEP, BP Diesel merupakan yang terbaik dari bahan bakar yang lain. SFC terbesar dihasilkan oleh bahan bakar Bp Diesel sebesar 0,55 kg/kWh diikuti oleh Shell Diesel sebesar 0,54 kg/kWh dan Pertamina Dex sebesar 0,50 kg/kWh, sehingga dari parameter SFC, Pertamina Dex merupakan yang terbaik dari bahan bakar lain. Efisiensi termal terbesar dihasilkan oleh bahan bakar Pertamina Dex sebesar 20,14% diikuti oleh BP Diesel sebesar 16,30% dan Shell Diesel sebesar 15,85%, sehingga pada parameter Efisiensi Termal, Pertamina Dex merupakan yang terbaik dari bahan bakar lain. Smoke Opacity terbesar dihasilkan oleh Pertamina Dex sebesar 10,75 % diikuti oleh BP Diesel sebesar 10,53% dan Shell Diesel sebesar 8,35 %

The use of diesel fuel is predicted to increase every year. Due to the increasing use of diesel fuel in private vehicles such as cars, the increase in choosing the use of diesel fuel because it is considered quite efficient. Regulations on the use of diesel fuel have been regulated in Euro 4 regulations, and most recently the Euro 5 standard with ultra low sulfur content (10ppm). In Indonesia itself, there are various kinds of diesel fuel from different vendors, starting from Pertamina with Pertamina Dex, Shell with Shell Diesel Extra, while PT BP AKR manages BP Diesel fuel. This research uses Pertamina Dex, Shell Diesel, and Bp Diesel as fuel. For each fuel, three tests were carried out, namely, fuel properties test, performance test and diesel engine emissions. Then calculations are carried out to obtain the values of Power, Torque, Specific Fuel Compsumtion (SFC), Thermal Efficiency, and Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP) as performance parameters and Smoke Opacity as emission quality parameters of the three types of fuel Performance test the diesel engine runs at constant speed at 2200 rpm and a varying load from 500 W to 4000 W at 500 W intervals. From this study, it was found that the largest torque was produced by BP Diesel fuel at 12.30 Nm, followed by Pertamina Dex at 12.24 Nm and Shell Diesel at 12.22 Nm. The biggest power is produced by Bp Diesel at 2832.94 Watt, followed by Pertamina Dex at 2817.78 Watt and Shell Diesel at 2813.70 Watt, so that from the torque and power parameters, BP Diesel has the best performance but with a value that is not much different with other fuels. The largest BMEP produced by Bp Diesel fuel at 311603.63 N/m2 then followed by Pertamina Dex at 309935.41 N/m2 and Shell Diesel at 309487.01 N/m2, so that from the BMEP parameters, BP Diesel is the best. The largest SFC was produced by BP Diesel at 0.55 kg/kWh followed by Shell Diesel at 0.54 kg/kWh and Pertamina Dex at 0.50 kg/kWh, so that from the SFC parameter, Pertamina Dex is the best of fuels other. The highest thermal efficiency is produced by Pertamina Dex fuel at 20.14% followed by BP Diesel at 16.30% and Shell Diesel at 15.85%, so that in the Thermal Efficiency parameter, Pertamina Dex is the best from other fuels. Pertamina Dex produced the largest smoke opacity at 10.75%, followed by BP Diesel at 10.53% and Shell Diesel at 8.35%.
