Abstract
Dalam industri perkapalan, keselamatan dan keandalan struktur kapal merupakan prioritas utama. Salah satu masalah signifikan adalah retak pada sambungan las, khususnya pada pelintang kapal yang berfungsi sebagai penyangga utama terhadap beban dinamis. Retak ini umumnya disebabkan oleh akumulasi tegangan siklik yang dikenal sebagai beban lelah, yang berasal dari berbagai faktor termasuk kondisi lingkungan laut, perubahan beban muatan, serta getaran dari mesin kapal.Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis umur lelah pelintang kapal akibat retak edge pada sambungan las. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan fracture mechanics, dilakukan analisis terhadap stress intensity factor pada sambungan las pelintang kapal dan memperkirakan umur lelahnya. Metode elemen hingga digunakan untuk memodelkan tegangan dan propagasi retak pada sambungan las. Data empiris dari pengujian laboratorium digunakan untuk mengkalibrasi model numerik.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa stress intensity factor dan umur lelah pelintang kapal dapat diprediksi dengan akurat menggunakan model yang dikembangkan. Temuan ini memberikan panduan praktis bagi insinyur dan desainer kapal dalam merancang sambungan las yang lebih tahan terhadap retak dan memastikan keselamatan operasional kapal. Pada penelitian ini nilai SIF pada initial crack 100 adalah 32,58 MPaVmm dan umur lelah yang didapatkan dari perambatan retak dengan initial crack 100 mm sampai dengan 1250 mm adalah 59,33 tahun.

In the shipbuilding industry, the safety and reliability of ship structures are of paramount importance. One significant issue is cracking in welded joints, especially in ship girders that serve as the main support against dynamic loads. These cracks are generally caused by the accumulation of cyclic stress, known as fatigue loading, which originates from various factors including marine environmental conditions, changes in cargo load, and vibrations from ship engines.This research focuses on the fatigue life analysis of ship girders due to edge cracks in welded joints. Using a fracture mechanics approach, the stress intensity factor of the welded joint in the ship girder was analyzed, and its fatigue life was estimated. The finite element method was employed to model the stress and crack propagation in the welded joint. Empirical data from laboratory tests were used to calibrate the numerical model. The results of the study indicate that the stress intensity factor and fatigue life of the ship girders can be accurately predicted using the developed model. These findings provide practical guidance for engineers and ship designers in creating welded joints that are more resistant to cracking and ensuring the operational safety of ships. In this study, the SIF value at an initial crack of 100 mm is 32,58 MPaVmm, and the fatigue life obtained from crack propagation with an initial crack of 100 mm up to 1250 mm is 59,33 years.
