Abstract

Desain pabrik Cocamidopropyl Betaine ini dirancang untuk memanfaatkan fatty acid palm kernel oil sebagai bahan baku utama, dengan kapasitas produksi 17.000 ton per tahun. Palm kernel oil dipilih karena Indonesia memiliki kelapa sawit yang melimpah dan kandungan asam laurat pada palm kernel oil tinggi. Proses produksi terdiri dari dua tahapan utama, yaitu tahap amidasi dan tahap karboksimetilasi. Tahap amidasi yaitu tahap reaksi antara fatty acid dengan dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) yang menghasilkan produk antara amidoamine. Tahap karboksimetilasi. Karboksimetilasi adalah reaksi antara amidoamine dengan sodium monochloroacetate (SMCA). Reaktor yang digunakan adalah plug flow reactor (PFR) dengan sistem continious. Tujuan dari pembuatan Tugas Akhir ini adalah untuk mendesain Pabrik Cocamidopropyl Betaine dari Fatty Acid PKO dengan kapasitas 17.000 ton/tahun. Standar spesifikasi produk betaine diantaranya yaitu CAPB 30%, kandungan air maksimal 67%, free amidoamine maksimal 2%, SMCA maksimal 0,03% dengan kandungan NaCl 5-7%, DMAPA maksimal 0,05% dan natrium glikolat 4%. Hasil neraca massa yaitu CAPB 30%, kandungan air 57%, amidoamine 0,77%, SMCA 0,03%, NaCl 6,9%, dan atrium glikolat 3,63%. Nilai total capital investment (TCI) sebesar Rp 150.801.179.983,63 sedangkan nilai total production cost (TPC) sebesar Rp 244.558.618.960,83. Hasil IRR, NPV, POT, dan BEP secara berturut-turut yaitu 24,23%; Rp. 164.217.245.248,25; 8 tahun; dan 42,53% dimana menunjukkan hasil yang positif sehingga pabrik layak berdiri pada tahun 2028.

The design of the Cocamidopropyl Betaine plant is designed to utilize fatty acid palm kernel oil as the main raw material, with a production capacity of 17,000 tons per year. Palm kernel oil was chosen because Indonesia has abundant palm oil and high lauric acid content in palm kernel oil. The production process consists of two main stages, namely the amidation stage and the carboxymethylation stage. The amidation stage is the reaction stage between fatty acids and dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) which produces amidoamine as an intermediate product. The carboxymethylation stage. Carboxymethylation is the reaction between amidoamine and sodium monochloroacetate (SMCA). The reactor used is a plug flow reactor (PFR) with a continuous system. The purpose of this Final Project is to design a Cocamidopropyl Betaine Plant from Fatty Acid PKO with a capacity of 17,000 tons/year. Betaine product specification standards include CAPB 30%, maximum water content 67%, free amidoamine maximum 2%, SMCA maximum 0.03% with NaCl content 5-7%, DMAPA maximum 0.05% and sodium glycolate 4%. The mass balance results are CAPB 30%, water content 57%, amidoamine 0.77%, SMCA 0.03%, NaCl 6.9%, and sodium glycolate 3.63%. The total capital investment (TCI) value is Rp 150,801,179,983.63 while the total production cost (TPC) value is Rp 244.558.618.960,83. The results of IRR, NPV, POT, and BEP are respectively 24,23%; Rp. 164.217.245.248,25; 8 years; and 42,53% which shows positive results so that the factory is worthy of being established in 2028.
