Abstract

Departemen Applied Technology PT. Indospring Tbk menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam pengelolaan proyek otomatisasi mesin dan lini produksi, termasuk workload yang tidak merata, ketiadaan perangkat standar untuk perancangan project management dan analisis beban kerja. Masalah ini menyebabkan risiko overload pada engineer, keterlambatan penyelesaian proyek, serta penurunan produktivitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan mengintegrasikan metode Critical Chain Project management (CCPM) dan metode Modified Full Time Equivalent (M-FTE). Metode Critical Chain Project management (CCPM) diterapkan untuk memetakan critical chain dan menetapkan buffer berdasarkan nilai kelonggaran (allowance). Selanjutnya, M-FTE menghitung kebutuhan engineer berdasarkan waktu baku yang telah dimodifikasi dengan nilai kelonggaran (allowance). Data primer dan data sekunder yang dikumpulkan melalui observasi, diolah dengan mengintegrasikan metode Critical Chain Project management (CCPM) dan metode Modified Full Time Equivalent (M-FTE) yang menghasilkan beberapa alternatif project management, yaitu alternatif 1 (pilihan 1), alternatif 1 (pilihan 2) dan alternatif 2. Beberapa alternatif project management ini disimulasikan untuk menganalisis dampaknya terhadap durasi proyek, keseimbangan beban kerja dan ketepatan penyelesaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alternatif 1 (pilihan 1) dan alternatif 1 (pilihan 2) memberikan hasil yang optimal. Alternatif 1 (pilihan 1) dengan total engineer sebanyak 5 orang menghasilkan total company’s FTE sebesar 2080 jam, hanya 6.6% diatas kapasitas ideal 1952 jam per engineer. Alternatif 1 (pilihan 2) dengan total engineer sebanyak 6 orang menghasilkan total company’s FTE sebesar 1733.3 jam, lebih cepat 11% dari kapasitas ideal 1952 jam per engineer. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi bagi pengambilan keputusan manajerial yang seimbang antara efisiensi, utilisasi tenaga kerja dan ketepatan jadwal.

The Applied Technology Department of PT. Indospring Tbk encounters significant challenges in managing machine and production line automation projects. These challenges include uneven workload distribution and the absence of standardized tools for project management design and workload analysis. Consequently, these issues have led to risks of engineer overload, project delays, and a decline in overall productivity.This study aims to address these challenges by integrating the Critical Chain Project management (CCPM) methodology with the Modified Full-Time Equivalent (M-FTE) approach. CCPM is utilized to map the project’s critical chain and allocate appropriate buffers based on allowance values. In parallel, the M-FTE method is employed to estimate engineer requirements based on standard times adjusted by the same allowance factors.Primary and secondary data were collected through direct observation and analyzed using the integrated CCPM and M-FTE methodologies. This integration generated three project management alternatives: Alternative 1 (Option 1), Alternative 1 (Option 2), and Alternative 2. These alternatives were subsequently simulated to evaluate their impacts on project duration, workload balance, and completion accuracy.The findings indicate that Alternative 1 (Option 1) and Alternative 1 (Option 2) yield the most optimal outcomes. Alternative 1 (Option 1), involving five engineers, results in a total company FTE of 2080 hours, only 6.6% above the ideal capacity of 1952 hours per engineer. Meanwhile, Alternative 1 (Option 2), involving six engineers, produces a total company FTE of 1733.3 hours, which is 11% below the ideal capacity, indicating improved efficiency.This study offers valuable insights for managerial decision-making by presenting a balanced approach to optimizing workforce utilization, improving project scheduling accuracy, and enhancing overall project efficiency.
