Abstract

North Sulawesi and Gorontalo are two strategic regions in eastern Indonesia with vast geographical areas. The rapid population growth in these regions correlates with an increasing demand for electrical energy, as reflected in the total electricity sales reaching 4,440,520,909.63 GWh in 2023. According to the 2021-2030 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), the number of electricity customers is projected to continue increasing, necessitating the preparedness of infrastructure and power system operations to achieve a reliable and efficient electrical system. Sulbagut Electricity System is an interconnected power system covering the North Sulawesi and Gorontalo provinces, operating at 150 kV and 66 kV interconnection voltage levels. In the context of efficient power system operation, power losses is a critical issue that must be addressed. This study aims to analyze the active power losses in the Sulbagut system and determine the optimal generation dispatch pattern through a redispatch scheme to minimize those losses. The optimization is carried out using a loss estimation model based on the B-Loss Coefficients matrix, which enables direct estimation of active power losses based on the output of each generating unit. In this study, the B-Loss matrix is derived using two different approaches: DC Power Flow (DC-PF) and the Accurate Measurement-based Convex Model (AMCM). The results show that the optimal redispatch using the B-Loss Coefficient models of DC-PF and AMCM successfully reduced total active power losses over a 24-hour period by 0.16% and 0.13%, respectively, compared to the existing condition
