Abstract

The adoption rate of the Human Resource (HR) application at PT XYZ remains very low, despite the company’s focus on information technology consulting and its high demand for digitalization. Most employees still rely on manual processes, highlighting a gap between available technology and user acceptance. This study aims to explore the factors influencing individual readiness and acceptance of the HR application using a qualitative approach based on the Technology Readiness and Acceptance Model (TRAM), which combines constructs from the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), as well as external factors such as social influence and self-efficacy. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaires and in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. The results show that employees’ technological readiness is at a moderate level (TRI = 3.28), with high optimism and innovativeness but constrained by discomfort and insecurity. Five main themes emerged: perceived usefulness, technical challenges, feature needs, innovation expectations, and adoption strategies. This study proposes a new conceptual model describing the dynamic relationship between individual readiness, perceived ease of use and usefulness, and organizational support for HR application acceptance. The findings provide a foundation for user-centered implementation strategies and strengthening digital culture within the organization.
