Abstract

At present, university students find it challenging to uphold healthy eating habits due to their busy schedules, as a result they rely on fast food and unhealthy food options. This study aims to develop a Campus Meal Kit Application, specifically addressing the development of real-time order management, dietary personalization and a collaborative marketplace. The main highlight of this project is the real-time updates of ongoing orders, a status tracking system and the ability to customize preferences along with a collaborative recipe sharing platform where users can create and offer their meal kits for sale to others in the community. The implementation of this application utilizes React.js to create a dynamic and responsive user interface and Supabase as the backend tool to handle authentication, real-time database operations, and secure data storage to provide seamless and efficient user experience for students. Additionally, this platform ensures data protection, sustainability and provides access via mobile devices and web browsers. In this study, a user-centered design methodology is used to involve the end-users throughout the development process to ensure the final product meets their specific requirements. Data collection methods include surveys, market research and conducting comparative analysis to identify limitations in existing meal planning and delivery platforms.
