Abstract
Proyeksi kebutuhan air baku domestik selama 50 tahun ke depan diperkirakan mencapai 56.318,13 m³ per hari, sedangkan kebutuhan air baku non-domestic sebesar 13.649,23 m³ per hari.

The Merangin Dam is located in the Merangin Sub-Watershed, Batanghari River Basin, Merangin Regency, Jambi. The Merangin Dam is designed to supply water for hydroelectric power plants (PLTA), irrigation, and raw water. With the growth of the population in Merangin Regency, the demand for energy, agricultural products, and clean water has increased significantly. Therefore, a dam water allocation study is crucial to analyze the inflow and outflow of available water. The research stages include water availability analysis, calculation of water requirements for the PLTA, irrigation, and raw water supply, water balance analysis, and dam operation simulation. In this study, the reliable flow rate of the Merangin Dam was obtained through calculations using the F. J. Mock method and projected for the next five years using the Thomas Fiering method, resulting in a maximum flow rate of 251.77 m³/second and a minimum flow rate of 0 m³/second. The maximum irrigation water requirement at the beginning of the December II planting season, with an irrigated area of 7,054 hectares, was recorded at 3.5 m³/s, while the minimum requirement was 0.09 m³/s. The projected domestic raw water demand over the next 50 years is estimated to reach 56,318.13 m³ per day, while the non-domestic raw water demand is 13,649.23 m³ per day. The 90% reliable flow rate of 1.45 m³/second is utilized for calculating the potential for hydroelectric power generation, which can produce 1.02 MW of power and up to 8,975.71 MWh of annual electricity. Based on irrigation water demand analysis, the annual water demand for the Rice–Rice–Soybean cropping pattern is smaller, at 33 m³/second, compared to the Rice–Rice–Corn cropping pattern at 34 m³/second, so the excess water can be utilized for other needs. Additionally, simulation results of dam operations using a water balance indicate that the reservoir's storage volume is projected to remain sufficient and will not experience depletion for the next six years.
