Abstract
Magang industri merupakan bagian dari kurikulum Program Studi Sarjana Terapan Teknik Mesin Industri Fakultas Vokasi ITS yang bertujuan mengembangkan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menerapkan ilmu teknik di dunia industri. Magang ini dilaksanakan di PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya, khususnya pada divisi peralatan unit Head Truck, selama empat bulan dari Februari hingga Juni 2024. Laporan ini berfokus pada penerapan sistem perawatan berbasis Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi perawatan unit Head Truck. Metode RCM digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi kegagalan pada komponen kritis seperti engine system, brake system, dan transmission system melalui analisis fungsi, failure mode, serta konsekuensi kegagalan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan bahwa komponen brake system memiliki tingkat risiko kegagalan tertinggi dengan skor Risk Priority Number (RPN) sebesar 224, disusul oleh engine system sebesar 210, dan transmission system sebesar 192. Hasil ini menjadi dasar bagi perusahaan dalam menyusun strategi perawatan preventif yang lebih tepat sasaran, sehingga dapat meminimalisasi downtime dan memperpanjang umur operasional unit Head Truck.

The industrial internship is a component of the Applied Bachelor Program in Industrial Mechanical Engineering at the Vocational Faculty of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), designed to enhance students’ skills in applying engineering knowledge in real industrial environments. This internship was carried out at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya, particularly in the Equipment Division for Head Truck units, over a period of four months from February to June 2024. This report focuses on the implementation of a maintenance system based on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Head Truck unit maintenance. The RCM method was used to identify potential failures in critical components such as the engine system, brake system, and transmission system by analyzing their functions, failure modes, and the consequences of failure. The analysis revealed that the brake system had the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) of 224, followed by the engine system with 210, and the transmission system with 192. These results serve as a basis for the company to develop more targeted preventive maintenance strategies, thereby minimizing downtime and extending the operational life of the Head Truck units.
