Abstract
Kegiatan magang industri merupakan bagian integral dari kurikulum pendidikan vokasi di Departemen Teknik Mesin Industri, Fakultas Vokasi, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), yang bertujuan untuk menjembatani antara teori perkuliahan dengan praktik di dunia kerja nyata. Penulis melaksanakan kegiatan magang di PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (PT TPS) selama empat bulan, mulai dari Februari hingga Juli 2024, yang berfokus pada unit peralatan Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG). RTG merupakan salah satu alat berat vital dalam proses bongkar muat petikemas di terminal pelabuhan, sehingga diperlukan sistem maintenance yang optimal untuk menjaga kinerja dan keandalannya. Selama magang, penulis terlibat langsung dalam aktivitas preventive, corrective, dan breakdown maintenance pada berbagai unit RTG. Salah satu pendekatan yang digunakan dalam analisis sistem perawatan adalah metode Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). FMEA digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi kegagalan komponen, mengevaluasi dampak terhadap sistem, serta menetapkan prioritas penanganan berdasarkan nilai Risk Priority Number (RPN). Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa beberapa komponen seperti hoist motor, trolley brake, dan spreader system merupakan titik kritis yang berpotensi mengalami gangguan dengan nilai RPN tinggi. Analisis ini kemudian menjadi dasar dalam menyusun rekomendasi perawatan lebih lanjut untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan mengurangi risiko downtime.

Industrial internships are an integral part of the vocational education curriculum at the Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), aimed at bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world workplace practice. The author conducted an internship at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (PT TPS) for four months, from February to July 2024, focusing on the Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) equipment unit. RTG is one of the vital heavy equipment in the container loading and unloading process at the port terminal, so an optimal maintenance system is required to maintain its performance and reliability. During the internship, the author was directly involved in preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities on various RTG units. One of the approaches used in the maintenance system analysis was the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. FMEA was used to identify potential component failures, evaluate their impact on the system, and establish priority handling based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value. Observations revealed that certain components, such as the hoist motor, trolley brake, and spreader system, are critical points with high RPN values that are prone to malfunctions. This analysis served as the basis for developing further maintenance recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime risks.
