Abstract
Gas HHO merupakan suatu sistem elektrolisis air (H2O)
untuk menghasilkan gas hidrogen dengan nilai kalor dan oktan
yang tinggi. Apabila gas tersebut ditambahkan pada mesin
berbahan bakar solar atau bensin, maka akan dapat meningkatkan
kualitas pembakaran bahkan dapat mengurangi pemakaian bahan
bakar utama. Pada penelitian ini Dump truck Nissan Diesel
CWA211 NHRR-S 6925cc digunakan sebagai implementasi hasil
gas HHO dengan 4 generator yang tersusun seri. Penelitian ini
dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Pembakaran dan Bahan bakar
Teknik Mesin ITS dan Pamekasan. Tahap pertama pembuatan 4
generator HHO dry type menggunakan pelat tipe SS 316L,
ukuran 110mm x 110mm dengan 6 cell dan masing-masing cell
menggunakan 4 pelat netral. Tahap kedua pengujian performa
generator HHO dengan variasi KOH sebanyak 3 gram, 5 gram
dan 7 gram pada setiap satu liter aquades. Selanjutnya hasil
performa generator HHO dianalisa untuk mendapatkan laju
produksi dan efisiensi terbaik dengan temperatur elektrolit yang
rendah untuk diimplementasikan pada Dump truck Nissan Diesel
CWA211 NHRR-S 6925cc. Penelitian implementasi gas HHO
pada Dump truck Nissan Diesel CWA211 NHRR-S 6925cc
menggunakan cara perbandingan (comparative study). Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa performa terbaik generator HHO
dry type 6 cell dengan 4 generator HHO berukuran 110mm x
110mm tersusun seri adalah dengan kandungan massa KOH
sebanyak 3 gram pada setiap satu liter aquades dengan laju
produksi 3,6 liter/menit, efisiensi sebesar 88,37% daya rata-rata
sebesar 762,06 watt dan temperatur elektrolit maksimal sebesar
580C. Sedangkan implementasi gas HHO pada Dump truck
Nissan Diesel CWA 211 NHRR-S 6925cc dapat menurunkan
konsumsi bahan bakar solar rata-rata sebesar 31,15% dengan
keiritan jarak tempuh rata-rata sebesar 45,32%.
HHO gas is a system of electrolyzed water (H2O) to
produce hydrogen gas with calorific and octane high value. If the
HHO gas added to the diesel or gasoline engine, it will be able to
improve the quality of combustion and reduce to the use of
primary fuel. In this researh Dump Truck Nissan Diesel
CWA211 NHRR-S 6925cc used for implementation as a result of
HHO gas with arranged series of 4 generator. This research was
conducted at the Laboratory of Combustion and Fuels Mechanical
Engineering ITS and Pamekasan. The first stage manufactured of
4 HHO generator dry type using plate type 316L SS, size 110mm
x 110mm with 6 cell and each cell using 4 neutral plates. The
second stage tested of performance HHO generator with
variations of KOH 3 grams, 5 grams and 7 grams for each one
liter of distilled water. Furthermore, the performance of the HHO
generator is analyzed to obtain the best rate of gas production and
efficiency with a low temperature electrolyte to be
implementation for Dump truck Nissan Diesel CWA211 NHRR-S
6925cc. Research on the implementation of the HHO gas at
Dump truck Nissan Diesel CWA211 NHRR-S 6925cc use the
comparative study. The results showed that the best performance
of HHO generator dry type 6 cell with 4 HHO generator sized
110mm x 110mm of arranged series is a mass of KOH containing

as much 3 grams in every one liter of distilled water at the rate of
3.6 liters/min, efficiency is 88.37 % average power is 762.06
watts and maximum temperature of electrolyte is 580C. While the
implementation of HHO gas at Dump truck Nissan Diesel CWA
211 NHRR-S 6925cc can reduce diesel fuel consumption average
31.15% with economize on distace average 45.32%.
