Abstract
Hotel Grand Inna Tunjungan sebagai ikon bersejarah Surabaya menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam menarik segmen pasangan muda usia 20-35 tahun di tengah persaingan industri perhotelan yang semakin ketat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan konsep desain interior yang mampu memperkuat identitas brand hotel melalui integrasi budaya lokal Jawa Timur dengan pendekatan Heritage Elegance. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data primer melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan kuesioner terhadap 52 responden pasangan muda, serta data sekunder melalui studi literatur dan studi pembanding hotel sejenis. Perancangan difokuskan pada tiga area utama yaitu lobby, restoran, dan bar sebagai ruang pertama yang membentuk kesan awal pengunjung. Konsep Heritage Elegance mengintegrasikan elemen budaya maritim Surabaya seperti transformasi bentuk jala nelayan menjadi chandelier artistik, motif batik Grand Inna pada wall panel, dan interpretasi arsitektur candi Jawa Timur dalam elemen dekoratif. Material yang dipilih mengutamakan marmer, kayu solid, dan elemen lokal untuk menciptakan suasana mewah namun tetap autentik. Hasil validasi desain menunjukkan tingkat penerimaan yang sangat tinggi dengan 73,1% responden menyatakan sangat setuju terhadap konsep ruangan, 92,4% mengapresiasi integrasi budaya Jawa Timur, dan 98,5% menilai fasilitas tersusun dengan baik. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa hotel heritage dapat tetap kompetitif melalui pendekatan desain yang menggabungkan preservasi nilai historis dengan inovasi kontemporer, menciptakan pengalaman menginap yang bermakna bagi generasi milenial dan Gen Z sambil mendukung sustainable tourism dan pelestarian budaya lokal.

Grand Inna Tunjungan Hotel, as a historic landmark in Surabaya, faces significant challenges in attracting young couples aged 20-35 amid increasingly competitive hospitality industry. This research aims to develop an interior design concept that strengthens the hotel's brand identity through integration of East Java local culture using Heritage Elegance approach. The research methodology employs qualitative approach with primary data collection through observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires administered to 52 young couple respondents, complemented by secondary data through literature review and comparative studies of similar hotels. The design focuses on three main areas: lobby, restaurant, and bar as the first spaces that form visitors' initial impressions. The Heritage Elegance concept integrates Surabaya's maritime cultural elements such as transforming fishing net forms into artistic chandeliers, Grand Inna batik motifs on wall panels, and interpretation of East Java temple architecture in decorative elements. Selected materials prioritize marble, solid wood, and local elements to create luxurious yet authentic atmosphere. Design validation results demonstrate exceptionally high acceptance rates with 73.1% of respondents strongly agreeing with the room concept, 92.4% appreciating East Java cultural integration, and 98.5% evaluating facilities as well-organized. This research proves that heritage hotels can remain competitive through design approaches that combine historical value preservation with contemporary innovation, creating meaningful accommodation experiences for millennials and Gen Z while supporting sustainable tourism and local cultural preservation.
